Klinger was outstanding in an East Lansing win against Okemos. She was solid as the primary ball handler and did a nice job initiating the offense with the pass or the dribble drive. Klinger successfully found and used angles to attack the rim and finish on either side. She was able to dribble through pressure and even scored off of it. Klinger was solid stopping and slowing the drive on the defensive end by keeping a wide base and using her strength.

If you haven’t seen Klinger play, do it now while she’s at East Lansing High School! The Calvin University commit is a special talent. She showed that last night in a huge win against Waverly that took her tean’s record to 6-5. Klinger dominated play on the offensive end scoring a a game high 24 points.

stole the show in a thrilling game against Saline. She demonstrated exceptional ball handling skill to use inside out dribbles going full speed in transition, then stepped into a pull up jumper from the free throw line and buried it. Sophie had the footwork and ability to finish contested layups with her left at the rim.

uses her fantastic footwork to create offensive opportunities. She can drive under control, use a jump stop, and counter pivot into a layup. Sophie finishes effectively with both hands and has an outstanding 3-point shot. Sophie reacts quickly to disrupt passing lanes and will create havoc. She drives hard to the rim, but still has the vision to find teammates around the rim. Klinger will be a foundational piece for East Lansing this season and is a prospect who could climb the rankings with a big day at The Top 250 Expo.

Klinger drew some eyes to her game in Fort Wayne as well. In her last game at the event, she wa basically dominant. Klinger flashed a terrific all around game, finishing the contest with 20 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals.

I got a chance to see Sophie at BCAM and PGH 250. I’m not shocked that she is having a great season. She willed her team to a victory over Okemos with 19 points, four rebounds, five assists, and five steals- that’s a crazy solid stat line. Keep it up.

Klinger just keeps getting better as an all around player. I always felt like she could shoot, but she showed this weekend that her game can be much more than that.

Klinger is a very intriguing prospect. She has a well rounded game that doesn’t need the stat sheet to judge her influence on the game. Klinger is a heady defender that anticipates movement, creates turnover and turns them into buckets on the other end.
