The Georgia Southern soccer-signee wouldn’t let Cherokee Bluff fade away. Cook dumped in 11 of her team-high 15 points in the fourth quarter to couple with her 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals. Kaitlin is a terrific hustler, quick to rebounds and steals. Her effort will be missed next year.
Kersh had her mind set on getting to the basket. She was at her best when she was able to drive and kick to shooters. After a few rushed shots in the first half, Bristol settled in in the second half and started to find a groove but battled foul trouble throughout. She sank a pretty three off a dribble hand-off and later found a pair of baskets at the rim. The electrifying soccer athlete produced 11 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
Claire hunted her shot more as the game wore on. The pass-first guard was able to break free in the second half, scoring all of her points over the final 16 minutes. Carlson tallied 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Claire finished with her left hand in transition for her first hoop of the game. She followed with a three and an And-1 drive. She finished 5-5 from the line. Good things happen when Carlson is aggressive on offense. To her credit, even when she isn’t looking to score, she is effective with her well-rounded floor game.
