Zion Prep with his reputation of developing athletes into division 1 players face off for the first time this season. This was the opening game of the MLK Classic and it was a good one as Mt. Zion Prep led throughout winning the game 61-46. Here are some of the players that stood out.

This was Nyla’s eighth game this season and she has averaged over 11 points per game. She didn’t disappoint here 16 points in this contest. She had some smooth athletic drives and was great finishing in transition. She uses a good euro-step around the rim and rebounds high to start the break. She walked away with the game MVP Award
Jniya controlled the flow of the game knocking down three’s and finding open players. She was able to read plays on defense and jump passes to turn steals into transition layups. She used her body well to finish in traffic after receiving contact. She has been averaging 19 ppg and finished with 14 points here and the victory.
Sarah showed good anticipation on defense to jump the lane on passes. She shot the three well and finished with contact at the basket. She finished the game with 14 points.
Madison scored 9 of her 15 points from the line. She constantly looked to draw contact and was able to control her momentum to get her shot off softly. She was aggressive on the boards and went after loose balls on the floor.
