The MLK Classic was held last weekend with schools from the Carolinas and Virginia came to compete over the holiday. I was able to catch day one of the event, so let’s take a look at the noteworthy juniors from the event.

Candice Williams Candice Williams 5’8″ | CG Greensboro Day | 2025 NC showed off her range shooting the ball moving well to get open for the pass and shot. She hit a clutch three pointer in the fourth quarter closing the gap between her team and their opponent. She did a nice job getting inside for rebounds, especially defensive ones that she pushed right up the court.
Azaria Scott brought some life for Greensboro Day in the third quarter attacking the basket and scoring through contact even getting some old fashioned three point plays. She hustled after loose balls and flashed in the passing lanes to grab steals. She is quick with the ball pushing the tempo.
Highlights
Kaylin McKoy continues to show off her stroke around the perimeter. She had a nice steal grabbing the bounce pass before it reached its destination, and she turned it up the court for a fast break. She always keeps her eyes peeled up the court to find her open teammates, and she makes strong plays on both ends of the court.

Gabby Matthews had a nice old fashioned three point play attacking the basket and scoring through contact. She continued to attack the basket hitting the reverse layup scoring with ease along the baseline. She can score on all levels of the court, and she is quick to make her move with and without the ball to get the open look.

Skyla Tuthill had a nice move using a ball fake to get the opening and pulling up for two points. She slid into the openings catching the pass and putting up the shot. She crashed the boards on defense coming up with rebounds and finding an outlet immediately.
