I won't have anything posted tomorrow, so I want to spend today talking about a few kids I haven't highlighted much recently but deserve recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='624964' first='Ashiya' last='Hopkins']

Hopkins is among the best at finishing through traffic in the South Central Conference. She's a kid Wisconsin Dells relies on to make some things happen off the dribble and disrupt the opposing team's offense at the point of attack. Hopkins does a solid job as the Chiefs lead guard, even though I'd argue that Hopkins is a better off-ball guard. She has the potential to be among the best in the South Central over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='448257' first='Makenzie' last='Luehring']

Some kids have a knack for putting the ball in the basket, and that's what Luehring does best. She's not like other high-level scorers. She doesn't have the physical tools other kids do, but she makes it work. One thing that makes Luehring so good is her off-ball movement. She's one of the best cutters I've seen in the state, and she does an excellent job finishing in traffic, through contact, and from angles that she makes to make sure she can get her shot up. The last time I saw Luehring, the junior didn't have her best perimeter shooting night. However, she'll get into a rhythm shooting the ball sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='766616' first='Maddie' last='Chabot']

The Pewaukee Pirates have a tight-knit group, which has more than likely helped Chabot acclimate quickly to a new school, state, and home. On the floor, Chabot adds an aspect that the Pirates haven't had since Megan Zielsdorf graduated, and she may end up being better than Zielsdorf. Chabot is skilled around the rim, can shoot from the perimeter, adds plenty of length, and adds a legitimate post option that the Pirates need. She's talented enough that she can swing losses into wins in March.

[player_tooltip player_id='448303' first='Grace' last='Zortman']

Zortman takes nothing for granted and chases everything. Kids like Zortman maximize what their team can be in a macro sense. Homestead has won games because of her extra effort to earn extra possessions and more opportunities to cut into or extend leads. Her offensive game has expanded over the years, and although she doesn't have to do it much, she can lead Homestead in scoring and lead her team to a win in competitive games. You also won't find many guards that are better rebounders than Zortman. It's hard not to appreciate what she does on the floor.
