Aleah Hare
Aleah Hare
In the championship game upset vicotry vs Hendersonville, Hare went off in the third quarter, knocking down three 3s and finishing with eleven points. In this upstart season for East Robertson, Hare’s senior leadship has been indispensable. She was not nervous coming down the stretch of a huge game, and her teammates fed off her confidence.
Cookeville had a very difficult holiday schedule, and while I’ve seen Gilbert and Garcia pick up recent attention, I’ll continue to brag on the development of Allie Gillies Allie Gillies 5’8″ | SG Cookeville | 2026 State TN . Over her past five games, the sophomore guard is averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. With the way this Cookeville team loves to defend, if Gillies can continue to provide valuable minutes on both sides of the ball, it really raises the ceiling of this team come March!

One of the things you have to love about this Cookeville team is their diversity in scoring the basketball. Just over the break they were led in scoring by four different players, and four different players in double digits. Roby is another weapon in this Cookeville attack that seems to be getting stronger. She had multiple double digit scoring games, and led Cookeville in scoring with 14 once. Cookeville’s number of weapons, mixed with how well they guard, is going to be tough come tourney time.

The 6’1 post was fun to watch at the Aflac Christmas tournament. The senior post had one dominant outing of 21 points where she just owned the paint. Huntland had struggled a bit, but May is having a really nice season. She’s averaging right at a double double for the season for Huntland.

The 5’2 senior guard is just a joy to watch…as is this Sevier County team. They dominated their own Christmas Tournament, with Loveday leading the way as the had all season. Sevier County has been incredibly consistent this season, and Loveday’s consistency has been huge for them. She’s been around 15 point every night, and is surrounded by high level role players that are capable of stepping up and helping give enough to win. Sevier County is fun to watch because they don’t have a real dominant presence at any one position…but instead they do it all by committee.
Penland is a 5’10 wing that can do a bit of everything for her team. She’s been a key piece of Seiver County’s season, and she’s a ultra consistent steadying force as her diversity allows her to slide up or down the roster depending on what the team needs. She’s been around 13 points and 6 rebounds all season long…and on a nightly basis you always know what you’re getting.
The LM committee has also been a key member of Sevier County’s success story. The senior goes a bit unheralded at times, but if you know the game, you she what she’s providing. She a really nice, intuitive scorer and high level shooter that will always give you at least ten point, but can go off for twenty at time. Again, Laney is just another example of what makes this team so dangerous. They’ve got 3 legit scorers, with 2 more kids that are really valuable contributors. Their roster is DEEEEEP.
