Creek Wood is sitting at 11-5 on the year, and beat Upperman in OT right before the break. They had a really nice showing at the Winter Fest Shootout, and are hoping to find some consistency heading into the second half of the year. Darden has been their best player all year. She’s a steady two way kid with high IQ, and an instinctual scorer. I like this team’s potential in the second half to make some noise.
Burchard helped Rhea County take home their Christmas tournament Championship. This Rhea County team is young, but they’ve been fiesty all year. Burchard is an interesting one because while she’s still only a ’26, this is her second full season as a starter…and after a full exposure season with ETA Thunder ….she’s had a really nice year for Rhea. The 6’0 stretch post is averaging right at 11 point, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Really high upside kid who can shoot it!

Meigs had a nice showing over the break, and Howard was their best all-around player in my opinion on many of the possessions I watched. She not always a high-end scorer, but always scorers enough to impact the game. Knows hows to do the dirty work that simply impacts winning. Finds creative ways to get buckets. Really tough to keep off the offensive glass.
Wiles helped Powell HS win the Carter High School Christmas Championship. The freshman guard has continued to impress as one of the best pure scorers and shooters in the 2027 class. In the first round, she dropped 22 points and 11 rebounds (with four 3s), in the 2nd round she had 20 in a win versus Jefferson County, and and in the championship versus Gibbs she poured in 22 and 7.

The freshman Trinity Curry Trinity Curry 5’11” | C Farragut | 2027 State TN has been a bright spot for a Farragut Admirals team that has struggled a bit over the last few weeks. They are ultra competitive in every game if you’re a score watcher, you see they are losing close games to elite competition. They are right on the verge…and missing Priest hasn’t helped.
What has helped is the play of freshman post Trinity Curry Trinity Curry 5’11” | C Farragut | 2027 State TN . Curry has come on strong over the break, scoring right around double digits and helping out big on the boards. Coach Mayfield lauded Curry on her improvement this year, and her play as of late.
Pennington continues to be one of the best ’27s in the state, and culminated in an upset over Hendersonville to win the Big M Christmas Classic. In the championship game Pennington led all scorers with 16, and this isn’t new for her. She’s been doing it for East Robertson all season long!
