In today’s game, the floor needs to be spread and there are a number of ranked forwards that can do just that. Let’s look at 5 of the top ranked 4’s that can stretch the floor with their jumper.
Baney is a versatile player that can really play either forward position and do it at a high level. The Lake Superior State University commit recently crossed the 1000 point barrier. And those buckets came from all over the floor, including from behind the arc when she was lined up at the 4.
Risdon is a great example of a player developing her game throughout her high school career and turning herself into an elite talent. The Vermont commit has the length and the vertical ability to be a force down low. But Risdon’s game is WAY more than that. She has a smooth looking stroke from beyond the arc and can shoot over top of a defender.
Richards is truly an elite floor stretching power forward. In my opinion, it was her versatility and ability to shoot from deep that propelled her Lansing Catholic team to a state championship last season. She attacked the glass and limited opponents possessions on defense and buried jumper after jumper on the other end.
Borsenik is an excellent forward that has an impressive skill set at the 4. She has made herself a threat to score from the rim to beyond the arc. Borsenik is a powerful player that can physically dominate at the rim. That’s not her entire game though. I’ve seen the Concordia commit go toe-to-toe with some elite shooters in a 3 point contest at a fall showcase.
Armstrong is in the process of having an outstanding senior season. A big part of that success has been her versatility causing her to be a matchup nightmare for her opponents. Armstrong plays her matchups well, dominating smaller players down low and using her jumper to bring bigger and taller posts outside.
