Leah Richards Leah Richards 6'0" | PF Lansing Catholic | 2024 State MI , in my opinion, is the X factor tonight for Lansing Catholic. If Leah can protect the rim in the paint, control the boards, beat Haslett’s forwards facing up, and knock down shots outside, the Cougars will have their way tonight. Leah is a dynamic forward who has the athleticism to drive or shoot depending on the situation. Her shot blocking makes it tough for drivers and her shooting range makes it challenging for forwards to guard her effectively. Leah will be important for the Cougars tonight.

Richards is truly an elite floor stretching power forward. In my opinion, it was her versatility and ability to shoot from deep that propelled her Lansing Catholic team to a state championship last season. She attacked the glass and limited opponents possessions on defense and buried jumper after jumper on the other end.

Leah Richards Leah Richards 6'0" | PF Lansing Catholic | 2024 State MI put together an impressive performance in a winning effort for Lansing Catholic Tuesday. She controlled the interior by deflecting passes, rebounding, and forcing difficult shot attempts. Leah hit outside shots and finished strong inside through contact. Her quickness, anticipation, and well rounded offensive skills give the Cougars an advantage on both ends. Leah is an exciting prospect for Hope to add from their 2024 recruiting class.

The other half of the Richards sisters had a dominant junior season, earning second-team All-State honors from the Associated Press and a State Championship. The Hope College commit nearly had a double-double in the State Finals with 16 points and 9 rebounds last season. Those numbers are certain to continue, and Lansing Catholic will have another deep run.

Richards was a center piece to a state championship run last season for Lansing Catholic. In possibly the toughest game of their tournament run against Westfield Prep, Richards was the difference maker. Her ability to stretch the floor from the 4 position was absolutely huge. She shot the ball over top of defenders at hit triples at a very high percentage. If she can match her play from last season, Lansing Catholic has a shot to go back-to-back.

Richards and her Lansing Catholic team are coming straight off a state championship. She was a huge reason why. In one of the best games of the state playoffs in any division against Westfield Prep, Richards was the difference maker. Her length on the glass and her ability to shoot the 3 ball at an extremely high percentage was the biggest key to that game. We’ll all be waiting to see if her and teammates can play it back this season.

Leah Richards Leah Richards 6'0" | PF Lansing Catholic | 2024 State MI was another huge reason for LCC’s tournament run. She was huge on the boards and provided 14 points. She was a menace in the post and has the ability to take her girl outside for drives and three point shots. Her post defense made it so that the 1-3-1 was a killer and completely took West Catholic out of the game.

Richards was absolutely incredible in her team’s win against a tough Westfield Prep team. She was very active on the glass and picked up some second chance and put back opportunities. Richards was able to stretch the floor with her jumper. If Richards is shooting like she did a few days ago, Lansing Catholic could be playing for a state championship.
