For those who don’t know, the Miss Tennessee award honors the best player in each classification (We will have a total of 6 of them: D1-A, D1-AA, D1-AAA, D1-AAAA, D2-A, D2-AA). The award honors the young lady who had the best regular season. Postseasons such as the district and state tournaments aren’t accounted for or are a part of the selection process. It’s purely based on the body of work done from tip-off of the first game to the final whistle of the regular season.
As I mentioned before, this segment will take a look at the young ladies from the 4A classification. SMH. In this classification, these girls are some hoopers for real. I know the committee will have a tough time determining this winner. However, each of the finalists are well deserving of this prestigious honor. Though the winner won’t be announced until March 12th, just know that the winner is truly among the best in the state.
This is part three of a six part series honoring all nominees. Check out the 2023-24 finalists in the 4A class.
Imari Berry Imari Berry 5'10" | SG Clarksville | 2024 State TN (5 ’10/Sr./G/ Clarksville) – The McDonald’s All -American and Clemson commit had a spectacular year. Well, let’s face it, she had a stellar career. Posting over 2,000+ points she was a beast on the hardwood. Blessed with great length and a motor, she created havoc on both ends of the floor. A multi-level scoring threat, getting buckets is what she does. How? Well, anyway possible. She can pull up, come off screens, attack one on one. What I like though is she is a tough defender, using her length to get steals that led to transition buckets. She also contributed to her team by getting rebounds as well. Clemson got a special talent that will be on campus this fall, but as of right now, she has some unfinished business to attend to as her ball club looks to go deep into the state tournament .
Kimora Fields Kimora Fields 6'2" | PF Bradley Central | 2026 State TN (6’0/ So./ PF/ Bradley Central)– Is the 6th Lady Bearette to be named a Miss Tennessee finalist. Averaging 23.4 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, 2.1 steals per game , and 1.2 blocks per game, she had eclipsed so much at a young age. Already over the 1000 point mark, she just keeps getting better and better. Kimora is a two-way enforcer that exudes energy. She sets the standard for her club. A workhorse , she is going to get it and get after it in every possession. She is a beast inside the arc, where she can put the ball on the deck and finish at the rim or pull up from various spots. Anything off the glass , she cleans that up and puts it back. Defensively she is sound and is a problem to deal with. Opposition coaches just struggle with her matchup. She’s young, fun to watch , and is a big time star in her league. Look for her to get better and continue on her upward ascend.
Natalya Hodge Natalya Hodge 5'7" | CG Bearden | 2026 State TN (5 ‘7/So./ CG/Bearden) – This youngin is the truth. A speedy floor general who controls the tempo of the game with ease. The kid is shifty and can score it on all 3 levels. Posting 22.4 ppg,4.9spg, 4.8rpg, 3.4apg, as you can see, she is active all game long, leaving her mark along the way. She’s an ultimate competitor and goes to great lengths to help her ball club come on top. Already over the 1000 pt mark, she’s eager and yearning for more. Battle tested during the state tournament last year, she is eager to get back and take what slipped from their grasp last year. A phenomenal talent who continues to grow each and every game.
Just missed the cut.
Talk about tough decisions. Here is a young lady who just missed being in the final 3.
Ella Ryan

Brentwood | 2025
State
TN
(5 ’10/ Jr./ G/ Brentwood)– A true leader who is a sensational hooper and awesome human being. Averaging 24.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.3spg, 4.0spg, on top of posting a 4.38 GPA, you have a workhorse and a heck of a student athlete in this young lady . Almost to the 1500 point mark, she’s a beast with the ball in her hands. This kid plays the game with a motor and doesn’t take any plays off no matter who has the possession. Plays the game with heart and passion, she brings it nightly to the floor. Ella is a gym rat and her team follows her attitude and effort. She goes out and competes from tip to the final whistle, leaving it all on the floor. A fierce competitor, she’s always finding ways to exploit the opponent while neutralizing their effort. A great talent who has a high basketball IQ. She will be on some D1 roster when it’s all said and done.
