Too much? Well it’s facts. The sophomore class is probably one of the most highly touted in the state. It’s rich in talent and has been battle tested amongst the various levels. Believe me yet? Let’s think about it.
In this class, we have back to back state champs, repeat Glass House attendees, district player of the years, and kids who get it done on the circuit playing high level talent on the shoe circuit such as the EYBL, UAA, 3SSB, and E-40. My point is these girls are legit and are household names that will be competing at the next level.
Here are some names of players I would like to rave about. You know them. You’ve seen them. They are all about their business every time they take the floor.
Kimora Fields Kimora Fields 6'2" | PF Bradley Central | 2026 State TN (6’1/PF/Bradley Central)– Boogie is legit. Look, Kimora is an enforcer who gets after it on both ends of the floor. Her game continues to evolve and each year she add a little something to her arsenal. She gets it done on the boards, she locks up on D, she owns the boards, and she scores the ball. What more do you want from a tremendous prospect? She comes in at the top spot in this year’s ranking.
Natalya Hodge Natalya Hodge 5'7" | CG Bearden | 2026 State TN (5’7/PG/ Bearden)– She’s a no limit soldier. If you are reading this and were born in the late 90s and early 2000s, you know what I am talking about. Natalya is a go get ‘em type girl. She is an aggressive attacker who can score it from all three levels. She facilitates the rock with ease, she defends, she is the leading catalyst for her ball club. She brings the energy on a nightly basis. Her stock is rising and will continue to rise as she competes throughout the travel ball season.
Meeyah Green Meeyah Green 5'9" | CG Webb-Knoxville | 2026 State TN (5’8/PG/ Webb Knoxville)– Steady. Poise. Electric. This girl has one of the best basketball IQs in the state. She has such an understanding of the game, the game seems to slow down every time she touches the ball. A multi-level scoring threat, she picks her spots to exploit. Whether it’s dropping a dime or two, or getting down hill for an easy lay, this kid is legit and competes on both ends of the floor. A gym rat who will be a big time asset for any major college program at the next level.
Faye Williams Faye Williams 6'3" | PF Bartlett | 2026 State TN (6’3/F/Bartlett)– A Gazelle. Not a unicorn (too many of those going around.) I’m giving Faye this term. She’s swift on her feet, runs the floor well, can handle the ball like a guard and take her opponent of the dribble, pull it from the arc, bang in the paint, own the boards, knock down the mid-range, block shots, defend, takes advantage of mismatches, bring energy, energy, energy ( let me catch my breath.) She does this majestically. This kid is a great athlete who competes all the time. Another kid who will be on all collegiate boards as someone to try to get.
Anna Clay Shirley Anna Clay Shirley 6'0" | SG MTCS | 2026 State TN (6’1/ G/ MTCS)– Wow. This morning my creative juices are flowing because the song that came into my mind was Alicia Keys “ This Girl is on Fire.” When AC is hot, she’s hard to stop. Possesses a beautiful shot that she releases from the arc that scorches the bottom of the net. She can put it on the floor to finish against contact. One thing I will say is she has a never give up attitude and will compete from tip to the final buzzer. Her stock is rising and she has a high ceiling. Look for her to continue to get better as a)she competes against other talented girls.b) she adds more tools to her arsenal. This kid is a solid prospect that will be a nice addition to a program at the next level.
