Cookeville is finishing off a really special year, and in part, that has occurred because the special depth this team has. On any given night, any number of girls will lead Cookeville in any number of stats….they just care about winning. We see you Macy Hudson Macy Hudson 5’8″ | SG Cookeville | 2025 State TN ! In Friday’s win over Stewart’s Creek, the ’25 wing had her second double double of the season: 10 points and 12 rebounds. For a Cookeville team that doesn’t possess great size, her willingness to be a guard that “rebounds down” and gives effort like a “big” helps makes this team go.
Ultimately, Cookeville’s success is going to come down to Gilbert’s ability to be their #1 scorer. I trust that Cookeville’s defense will be there every single night. They proven that. They’ve proven they have 5-6 kids that can score in double figures on any given night. But to win a state championship, you’ll likely need that one kid that you KNOW will give you 15 points in a huge game. Gilbert needs to be, and can be, that player for Cookeville.
