I caught day 2 of the event. Let’s take a look at some of the ball handlers that stood out at the event.
Jianna Holmes does a nice job patiently waiting for the floor to open up and plays to develop. She does a nice job attacking the gaps making defenders collapse while she moves the other direction. She seems to get a read on how the defense will play the ball, and she uses that information to make her move getting buckets for her team. She makes her presence known on defense hustling back and preventing fast breaks.
Highlights
Miyani Bullock was all over the court on defense coming up with steals and pushing it to the other end. She did a nice job finding her open teammates and attacking the basket herself. She’s a pesky on ball defender, too, keeping her opponent in front of her slowing down any kind of higher speed tempo.
Symora Damon is very quick handling the ball and exploding to the basket off of steals or even rebounds. She showed off her range making it count from around the perimeter. She sees the floor well making the long pass up court finding her teammates in stride. She played some tight on ball defense making sure her opponent didn’t have any easy path to the basket.
Shania James was making some nice moves with the ball attacking the basket and getting around her defenders. She could pull up from deep, or she took it all the way to the rim. Her ability to stop on a dime and pull up for a floater was certainly fun to watch.

Lena Stinebrickner did a nice job filling in the open lanes and spreading the floor hitting her shot from deep. You can tell she’s a good shooter by the way her team runs plays to get her the open look. She did a nice job sliding backdoor to get the pass and score at the rim. Her crossover move running full speed up the court was dangerous losing her defender.
