The SMU signee is special. James’ quickness is just insane, which makes her defensive game unreal as well! And the way she leads her passes on fast breaks- lets just say she’d make an outstanding quarterback! We’ll be seeing her on ESPN next year at this time! (Below with ball, featured photo)

Shania was the X-factor for Example Sports Academy Wolfpack 2026 at our Victory Region Finals. It seemed like every time I looked up, Shania had her hands on the basketball. She contributed in every statistical category–chasing down rebounds, dishing out assists, scoring at all three levels, and creating steals on the defensive end. In a first-game battle where points were few and far between, Shania led the team with eight second-half points, including a shifty double-crossover layup through contact. She swiped the ball away many times and converted key free throws down the stretch. Shania continued to dominate on day two with 10 points in the quarterfinals and 13 in the semifinals, including three triples. It was in the biggest game that Shania shined brightest, pacing the team with 12 first-half points. She started the game with a 3-pointer on the opening possession, dished a dime after stealing the ball away on defense, stole the ball again to score a layup off two feet, and send the crowd into a frenzy after burying a corner triple through a foul–completed the four point play at the line. Shania kept her hands active to deflect passes and outran receivers to the ball like a cornerback breaking on a route. Shania left the game with an injury and showed her competitive toughness by returning to action. In the second half, Shania buried another three-pointer off a double screen, kissed a contested floater off the glass driving full speed, and dished out multiple assists to teammates. She continued to chase down rebounds on both ends and caused turnovers on defense. Shania led all scorers with 21 points and is our 17U All-Tournament MVP.

Shania was a playmaker on both ends for Example Sports 2026 Wolfpack, and she knocked down clutch free throws down the stretch of a hard-fought battle to preserve the comeback win. Shania created space from defenders with quick crossover jab dribbles and pushed the tempo after securing defensive rebounds. She worked hard to keep ball-handlers contained with quick lateral steps. Shania used an explosive double-crossover dribble to get the edge and then finished a tough layup through contact. She drained two triples and poured in eight important second-half points.

There was no other player in the gym this past weekend with the potential and skillset of Shania. I caught her last game, and the scoring wasn’t even the main focal point. It was her playmaking and vision that solidified how much of a star this kid can be. She set up almost every player for an easy bucket and made the difficult passes look effortless. Can’t wait to see where she calls home for her college career.

and what she brings to the hardwood. James is lightning fast, always in control, and she always pulling something interesting out of her hat in crucial moments of the game. This is someone that has been
Example Sports
2026 UAA leader for a few years now. Offensively, not only can she handle, she is a bucket at every level you can imagine. She can hit you with a nasty crossover into a lay at the rim, she can get into the midrange and splash a floater, she can pull up from deep off the catch or dribble, and she can outsmart anyone that stands in her way at any given moment. Easily one of the best PG’s I’ve seen so far this AAU season on the road. She is a game-changer now and she will be a game-changer at the next level too.

She is a standout for Example sports, showing elite transition play and a high basketball IQ. She excelled at pushing the pace, making sharp outlet passes, and finding open teammates. Shania played with relentless energy, hustling on both ends and embracing contact at the rim. Her unselfishness and toughness make her a well-rounded, high-impact guard!

One of the best players on the Under Armour circuit right now is Shania, no matter the class or state. The talent she brings on both sides of the ball is why she’s considered one of the top players in the country, not just the state. From her ball handling to her ability to create for herself and others, there are not many players who carry this much upside and skill at such a young age.

Shania, “The One”, James is exactly what her nickname eludes too. James is a 5’5 PG with a shifty handle, impressive awareness, and a ton of ability of both sides of the ball. As a PG, she can run the show and be the leader while setting up her team’s offense, she can control pace of play, she can control tempo, and she can make clutch plays out of no where with very little space and time left on the possession. All of these abilities were on display this weekend. Didn’t matter who the competition was, James was ready to feast and she did a thorough job of that throughout the weekend. Best PG I had the chance of observing the past few days.
