Junior guard Olivia Jones Olivia Jones 5’3″ | PG West Potomac | 2025 VA had a career night against Fairfax. Olivia finished with a career-high 28 points in a 28-point victory. Olivia knocked down 5 threes, and many of these shots were not all wide-open catch-and-shoot threes. She dribbled into many of them and shot the ball with supreme confidence. She also chipped in 5 rebounds and 4 assists to complement her massive scoring night.

Woodgrove finished another week of domination, beating all their opponents by 25+. Angelina Nice Angelina Nice 6’0″ | CG Woodgrove | 2024 State VA always finds herself in my list of standouts. Angelina led her team in scoring in all 3 games and eclipsed the 20-point mark in every game. She opened the week with 21 against Loudoun County, then had 24 in a second-half mauling of John Champe. Then, against a good Loudoun Valley squad, she knocked down 5 threes and led all scorers with 27. I could have shouted out Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5’10” | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA , as both girls had terrific weeks.
I got to check out a game I was excited about on Friday when Bishop Ireton took on Elizabeth Seton. Nyla Brooks Nyla Brooks 6’2″ | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA had an efficient game, showing why she is one of the most talented players in the country. She had 27 points and showed her ability to score at all three levels. Nyla lived at the free throw line, and Bishop Ireton needed all 27 from her because they only won this game by 3. Nyla also had 26 in a nearly 50-point victory over St. Mary’s Ryken earlier in the week.
Amirah Anderson Amirah Anderson 5’10” | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA was another awe-inspiring performer from Bishop Ireton’s win over Elizabeth Seton. Amirah had 24 points and knocked down two threes. She is always efficient and doesn’t take many bad shots. She is also a terrific rebounder for her size, and she collected nine of those. Amirah also had a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double in Iretons’ victory over St Mary’s Ryken.

The last Bishop Ireton player that impressed me this week is Theresa Hagans Theresa Hagans 5’9″ | PG Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA . Theresa had a solid game against Elizabeth Seton, putting 10 points to go with four assists. What impressed me from Theresa this week was how well she played against St. Mary’s Ryken. She had 20 points on 8 shots and had close to a perfect game. Theresa does so many things well with her ability to handle the ball, quickness, and jump shooting. With all this team’s talent, she is sometimes somewhat forgotten. Theresa is excellent and one of the best guards in the state.
