Galveston Ball
Braeon Arceneaux-5’7 CG (2026)
Arceneaux was one of the main reasons I had to find out what game I was looking at because she brought the heat on both ends of the floor and her #THROWBACK mentality was one of the main reasons I didn’t switch channels, well do my wraparound coverage things, which happened to be what she does on defense. Her intensity on defense was just that “wraparound coverage” because she did an outstanding job “on the ball” baseline to baseline but seeing her come from nowhere playing the passing lane for steals was nice
Kalyn Toussaint-5’2 PG (2026)
Toussiant is a “long and athletic” guard who understands the importance of using her athleticism on both ends of the court and not only did she defend strongly in the set as well as in fullcourt, she also read the floor and played the passing lane. She had a nice first step and attacked the basket from multiple angles and her court vision was also solid
Reine Madsen-5’8 SF (2027)
Madsen was one of several freshmen I caught over the two games who showed me some nice potential and I’m not sure how tall she is yet she showed me I need to keep an eye on her on the court progression. She set the defender up nicely to attack the basket and showed good body control on her finishes while also playing solid defense in the set
Crosby
Katie Daniels -G (2025)
Daniels used a deceptive first step to attack the basket and finish yet she used her hand to get by the defender and what was also a plus was her ability to dish while attacking. Her court vision also stood out not only in the set but in transition as well
Savannah McKinnerey-5’5 G (2024)
McKinnerey did a good job of understanding positioning and rebounding on both ends of the court yet her interior defense was also solid. She showed good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots yet her diving on the floor for loose balls had me smiling
Emori Lasalle-5’8 G/F (2024)
Lasalle caught my eye a couple of times earlier, one was a couple of seasons ago with her school, and the other during the club season yet technically she wasn’t a new face, but I always add those I hadn’t seen a lot of. Her diving on the FLOOR several times JUST DID IT for me, she added solid timing as well as rebounded on both ends of the court but seeing her create her shot and drop the midrange was nice, and so was her attacking the basket and finishing strongly after contact
Lamaya Clark-F (2025)
Clark had me smiling as she too was on the floor after loose balls yet seeing her set the defender up to either take off the dribble or just show the jumper, which she dropped while being defended was sweet. She also did a good job defending “on the ball” baseline to baseline as well as in the set and guess what else, she played the passing lane
