Each of them bring their own unique game and skill set to the table. Let’s take a look at 5 star point guards from the 2027 prospect rankings.
Stewart is an elite talent that looks like she can and will be a national recruiting target. She already holds a Central Michigan offer. Stewart has a mature game that looks way beyond that of a freshman. Her handles allow her to manipulate the defense and get the ball to it’s spots. Stewart does a nice job moving the ball and then being ready to fire when it swings back.
Reid is a highly skilled point guard that has already made a lot of noise as a prospect. She has the ability to get her defenders off balance, get the ball in the lane, and make a play for herself or her teammates from there. Reid can finish with touch and body control from a mid range floater to a tricky finish at the rim. She can also see the floor on the move and hit a teammate in scoring position.
Gaddy brings a lot to the table as a young lead guard. She doesn’t waste time or dribbles. Instead she puts the ball on the floor, keeps a low front shoulder, protects the ball and gets to the rim. Gaddy is so tough to defend when she gets an angle to the rim with her right hand.
Simpson is an electric guard that brings a lot of excitement to the floor. She plays a very effective downhill and attacking style of game. Simpson can be aggressive on the offensive end. She’s one of those players that seems to have that takeover mode. Simpson can get in her groove and put up points and assists in bunches.
Shell broke out just before her freshman season began at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. She has that next level speed with the ball, giving her the ability to beat the defense down the floor and create easy scoring opportunities. Shell has the ability to play as a pass first and score first point guard.
