Holy Family will again advance to the Final Four after beating Peak to Peak 52-25 Friday morning at the Coliseum. At the end of 1st quarter, the game was tied at 10 with the Tigers only shooting 27.3% to start. So going into the 2nd quarter they relied on their defense to get stops and create offense that way. This worked as they were able to hold Peak to Peak to 5 total points in the 2nd quarter giving them the 24-15 lead going on the half. Coming out of the half, the 3rd and 4th quarters were just how you expected this Holy Family team to come out and play. Sawyer Dana Sawyer Dana 5'9" Holy Family | 2024 CO and Essyence Contreraz carried the load offensively combining for 23 points on 9-20 shooting from the field, and knocked down a couple of 3-pointers as well. Gracie Ward Gracie Ward 5'5" | PG Holy Family | 2026 State CO is what holds the team together at the point guard spot. She knows where everybody is on the floor and knows how to get them the ball in the right spots. Eniyah Contreraz and Jennifer Altshunrer are the X-Factors of the team giving boost on both ends of the floor as needed.
#4 Resurrection Christian
This Resurrections Christian team is built for everybody to be successful. They have 6 players that can contribute and are different which makes them difficult to guard. You have Olivia Klein Olivia Klein 5'6" | PG Resurrection Christian | 2025 State CO and Mackenzie Flikkema Mackenzie Flikkema 5'10" | CG Resurrection Christian | 2024 State CO who are the leaders of the team. Not only are they the top two scorers on the team at 16.7 and 12.1 ppg, they also are the upperclassmen so they’ve seen a lot of the last 4 years. Although they have their two leaders to produce each night, players like Lysette Baatz and Callie Gillespie Callie Gillespie 5'10" | SG Resurrection Christian | 2025 State CO are ones you need to on your radar. Both girls are dominated in the paint, getting 50/50 balls and cleaning up the glass where they hurt opposing teams.
#3 Riverdale Ridge
Last season’s Great 8 loss to D’Evelyn left a bad taste in their mouths so using how they felt last season as motivation they will once again face D’Evelyn in the Final Four this time. Things for Riverdale are a lot different as super sophomore Brihanna Crittendon Brihanna Crittendon 6'3" | SF Riverdale Ridge | 2026 State CO has a full season under her belt and knows what to expect from teams defensively. She is still a force to be reckoned with in the paint but has also fully expanded her game to the 3-point line which is forcing teams to pick their battles. Brooklyn Charlo also has played all season after coming to the team late in the season last year, she has been a knockdown shooter on offense and has helped space out the floor. All while giving 100% on defense and rebounding the ball at will. With those two being the focal point of the opposing team’s game plans, girls like Cimonie Martinez Cimonie Martinez 5'8" Riverdale Ridge | 2024 CO and Shay Vigil Shay Vigil 5'8" | PG Riverdale Ridge | 2026 State CO make countless plays that generate easy points for the team. Gabrielle Herr and Payton Meineke Payton Meineke 5'7" | PG Riverdale Ridge | 2026 State CO will be X-Factors in this championship run seeing as how they’re both anchors on the defensive end, giving them the confidence to shine on offense too.
#2 D’Evelyn
D’Evelyn has looked great all season long. They’ve had some challenges throughout the year but have managed to always turn them into learning experiences. Coming into the Final Four with a record of 23-3 with those 3 losses being to team in higher classifications they are battle-tested and ready for whatever is thrown their way. They are built to win and ready to repeat as state champs. In large thanks to the play of Peyton Marvel Peyton Marvel 5'9" | SG D'Evelyn | 2024 State CO . She is the engine that keeps the train moving as there aren’t many things she doesn’t do on the court. She is patient and lets the game come to her, never forcing or in a rush. Macy Scheer Macy Scheer 6'0" | SG D'Evelyn | 2024 State CO is a perfect compliment to her as they are sharing the load on both ends of the floor and making sure she is there to keep the defense honest. Ingrid Dalla and Ellie McMann Ellie McMann 5'7" | PG D'Evelyn | 2025 State CO are wild cards for this team, there are both hustle players they leave their impact on the game in a variety of ways.
