While state champions have been crowned across both Carolinas, many of the region’s top ballers are now trading in their high school uniforms for travel uniforms.
One of the first offseason events that took place to commence the 2024 offseason occurred at the Pearl Moore Center in Florence as Carolina Girls Hoops Report hosted the Palmetto Skillz Showcase. The many participants that were there were sorted into four teams and there was even a free clinic as part of the festivities.
We made the trek to the Pee Dee for the final day of the weekend event which was this past Sunday. Following the unveiling of our initial top performers list, here is part two of said list.
The Blazers of 2A Kingstree were well-represented this past weekend at the Palmetto Skillz Showcase. One way this was on display was via the team’s star freshman who recently completed her second season sporting Blazers colors. Shaw averaged a double-double with 13.1 points and 10.7 rebounds. Shaw can also showcase her offensive versatility by having the shooting prowess of a one or two despite playing primarily as a three or a four. Shaw was a reason why Kingstree concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a 20-4 record and a berth in the Lower State finals. As long as Shaw is in a Blazers uniform the next three years, things are looking up at Kingstree.

Another reason why Kingstree turned in a strong showing this past weekend at the Pearl Moore Center was because of the play of this standout 2026. Mosley completed her 2023-24 campaign by averaging 7.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 steals in the 24 games she played. A good bit of her production can occur at the free throw line as she displayed she can drain her attempts from the charity stripe. Mosley can give a team productive minutes as either a two in the backcourt or a three in the frontcourt. She understands how to organize an offense in a halfcourt set and also is gifted with finding driving lanes to the rim.
During the last few seasons prior to Prior bursting onto the season at 3A Waccamaw, the Warriors were not exactly on the radars of too many fans throughout the Palmetto State. That has changed as Waccamaw’s last three seasons have seen double-digit win totals. Among Prior’s vast skillset includes the ability to handle the ball, organizing an offense in a halfcourt set and the ability to put points on the board at a consistent rate. This offseason will be a huge one for Prior as she is slated to take part in the United World Games which are being co-hosted by Germany and Austria this June.

Willis was the lone representative from another school up the street – 5A Conway. On the travel circuit, Willis is slated to run with Lady Rimrockers. She has the ability to find driving lanes to the rim but can also throw defenses off balance with her midrange shooting abilities. Willis primarily operates in the frontcourt as a three. The defensive havoc she can cause opposing teams can be seen in the number of steals she can corral. Willis saw playing time in 21 games this past season for the Tigers and one can expect the direction of her overall game to only go even more up from here.
