The games showcased tons of good players and made one thing clear – the talent is abundant in the State of Florida. In this article we look at the Seniors who played and left their mark in Lakeland. Moreove, these players left their on the entire State of Florida.
Trinity Turner Trinity Turner 5’7″ | CG Dr. Phillips | 2024 State FL was determined to get out to a faster start than she did in the semifinals. She did just knocking down 6 points in the 1st quarter. Turner led all scorers with 16 points. Turner controlled the pace as usual. She got in the paint, created freethrow opportunties, and attacked the basket. Turner also had some sweet midrange shots in the Finals. Turner controlled the game. Looking back at her performance over the weekend, the thing that stood out was her poise in big moments, her confidence to handle the ball, and her ability to take and make the big shot in the critical moments of ballgames.
Leah Bullard Leah Bullard 6’1″ | PF Dr Phillips | 2024 State FL delivered a “bigtime” performance in the Finals. Bullard had some good moments in the semifinals, but her contributions in the Finals were player of the game worthy. She scored 15 points with midrange shots in the paint and drives to the rim. Her ability to drive paid huge dividends for herself, but also for her teammates. Bullard had some nice passes off the drive. She also battled all game long on the boards.
Carmen Richardson Carmen Richardson 5’8″ | CG Colonial | 2024 State FL was a force out there over the final two days and showed why she is one of the top guards in the State. Her ability to score from anywhwere on the court was on display and her leadership on the court was evident. In the semifinals, she helped hault a comeback effort and in the finals, she helped her team close a 21 point deficit to three before the final result.

Jasmine Bocca Jasmine Bocca 5’3″ | PG Colonial | 2024 State FL played like she always does and that’s giving 100 percent on both sides of the court, making great defensive plays, ans securing steals and taking charges. Bocca had some nice drives to the rim, knocked down a few threes, and help run the offense. Bocca played like a coach on the floor and as always shows that high basketball IQ. She has an understanding of every game situation. If a team is one foul from the penalty, Bocca is good about drawing the 5th foul so her teammates can get top the freethrow line. Bocca has made a name for herself and her game and ev3eruone respects her efforts on the floor. she fouled out in the the final game and every opposing coach gave her a hug in the middle of the game.
Jasmynne Gibson Jasmynne Gibson CG Colonial | 2024 State FL was the energy for Colonial and a lot of offensive sets ending with her attacking the rim. Gibson showcased an all around game with the ability to score on the outside and on the inside. She shot the outside ball well, and she was also comfortable in the midrange. Gibson also ran the floor in transition and also showcased her ability to shoot the three. She was relentless attacking in the paint and got multiple offensive rfebounds to keep possessions alive.
Destinie Gordon Destinie Gordon 5’11” | PF Colonial | 2024 State FL showed a lot of versatility on the floor. She was not the first option on offense, but when a play was needed, the versatile Gordon made it happen – by rebound, by scoring, or just hustling for the ball. She played great defense the entire week and battled for every ball. Gordon also showed some offensive versatility, hitting some clutch shots outside the paint, including a top of the key three pointer. Gordon played her role very well and was very impactful in her teams run to the finals.
Raeanne Eccleston Raeanne Eccleston 6’2″ | PF Colonial HS | 2024 State FL provided that spark off of the bench and was a ball of energy when on the court. The power forwarded rebounded well and also defended well inside the paint. Eccleston also had some nice putbacks after securing the rebound. Eccleston also ran the floor well. On offense, she showcased a nice midrange shot and was versatile enough to play on the inside and the outside.

Jalie O’Neal
Jalen O’Neal played well and was workhorse on the floor. O’Neal was versatile on the offense and showed she can shoot the jumper from behind the arc and can attack the rim off of the dribble. O’Neal got in the paint and scored. and also get in the paint and score. She is another player who is under the radar, but she gets the job done on both ends of the court.
