The girl with the long brown hair understands her assignments and executes them with pinpoint precision. Whether she’s breaking the school record for 3s made in a game, or dishing to her open teammates to get them shots, everything will be accurate and on time. The most impressive aspect of her game, however, is her defense. Hands down. She sits down in her stance and then moves her feet almost in time with her opponent. Opponents will have a hard time getting around her because she’s agile. If she wants to play college ball, she can help someone at the next level.
Carley Schaffer Carley Schaffer 5'7" | CG Parkersburg South | 2024 State WV , Parkersburg South, CG, 5-7, Sr. – Schaffer jumped on my radar for her ability to pass the basketball. She just knows where and when to get the rock to her teammates. I watched her make all kinds of accurate passes as the season went along. Some of them were a little iffy, but she threaded the needle quite nicely. Some of them couldn’t have been placed in any better position. And, some of them, you just had to yell out “Nice pass.” She’s also usually the fastest kid on the floor and is good at finishing in transition and getting to the line.
Emma Pinkney Emma Pinkney 6'1" | C Lewis County | 2024 State WV , Lewis County, C, 6-1, Sr. – Pinkney will be a center at the next level. Oh yes. The Minutemaid has the build, mentality, and strength to be a strong five for a Division III or NAIA school. She moves her feet well and understands how to use her body to create chaos. Her screens could knock someone on their rump.
Ashlynn Peters, Hundred, SG, 5-7, Sr. – Peters is a sparkplug on the floor. She’s always in on the action. Defensively, she uses her small size and quick hands to generate steal opportunities for her teammates. Offensively, she can take the ball to the basket, but her specialty is the 3-ball. NAIA coaches could find a place in their lineup for Peters.
