One year after an injury, she began to believe in herself and her well rounded skills on the basketball court. You really understood her potential when you watch her attack the basket with confidence. There’s not a lot that is going to get in her way between the hoop and some harm. Defensively, Giles handled the task of guarding an opponent’s best “sneaky” player. She stopped her assignment from an easy put back or she kept up with a faster opponent to stop their easy opportunities in the transition game.
9 Sadaya Jones, Morgantown, SF, 5-9, Jr. – Jones grew up a lot during the Mohigans’ run to Charleston. And, I mean a lot. She went from a leader of a struggling Fairmont Senior team to a key piece of a Mohigan great that returned to the state tournament. The biggest reason she jumped into the top 10 this year was her leadership skills. She wasn’t afraid to mix it up with her teammates or pull them together for a huddle. Did she say the right thing? Yes. Many times after a Jones pep talk, the Mohigans came out of it as a focused and more determined squad. Jones projects as a solid leader for any squad at the next level.
8 Kynna Britton Kynna Britton 5'10" | CG Sissonville | 2025 State WV , Sissonville, CG, 5-10, Jr. – Are you a defensive-minded coach keen on stockpiling as many good defenders on a team as you can get? Well if you are then look no further for your next recruit. Britton can guard every position on the floor, 1-5, and then some. Oh, on the offensive side, she can score in bunches and isn’t afraid to be the Indians’ go-to scorer in crunch time or any time.
7 Haylen Cook Haylen Cook 5'9" | PG Linsly | 2025 State WV , Linsly, PG, 5-9, Jr. – I have said it before and I will say it again – If you need a point guard on your team, go get Haylen Cook Haylen Cook 5'9" | PG Linsly | 2025 State WV .
