She knows how to make buckets with contact- keeps her eyes on the prize! So comfortable from behind the arc, making big shots! Her shooting percentage is high- and her free throws- she can knock those down blindfolded! Takes great care of the rock- handles with care!
#12 Laykyn Jones- 2024, Waterford: Lockdown defense. She can come out of no where and makes it hard for opponents to connect on fast breaks! Her leadership is very much noticed on the court. Her hustle, how she gets herself out of traps, screens, her communication on both ends- priceless.
#41 Summer Hoying- 2024, Fort Loramie: Athletic, fundamentals are just solid. She battles, knows how to work her way in to the basket, and makes buckets with multiple defenders surrounding her. When her shot isn’t there, some players may become frustrated. She on the other hand keeps playing and dishes the ball for assists!
#40 Avery Brandewie Avery Brandewie 5'10" | SF Fort Loramie | 2025 OH – 2025, Fort Loramie: Nice mid-range jumper, and gave her team momentum going in at half time with last second shot in semi-finals. Runs so well on transition! And I love how she acknowledges her teammates for great passes after connecting! What a game she’s having, putting the ball up inside with authority!
#21 Victoria Mescher Victoria Mescher 5'11" | CG Fort Loramie | 2025 State OH – 2025, Fort Loramie: Boards! She seals her defender so well, her shooting mechanics are strong, and what a great touch around the rim! She is touch to guard, with her frame and athleticism. Outstanding on transition- knows when to pass it off. Plays so smart- rather than going inside against someone 6’4, she pulls up and takes the 4-6ft shot!
#22 Jordyn Meyer- 2027, Laurel: This freshman played like an upperclassman, and had the game of her life, coming up with big shots from outside in State semi-final. And ended with the game winning shot! She thrived throughout the game! She moves beautifully without the ball, especially going baseline! Squares her body, and banks it in! She’s not afraid to shoot- takes great shots within the offense. You made a statement Jordyn!
#2 Saniyah Hall Saniyah Hall 6'1" | SF Laurel | 2026 State OH – 2026, Laurel: Elite players know what to do. It doesn’t matter if she’s double or triple teamed, Hall trusts in her teammates and delivers the ball to them. Her hands are like velcro! She can catch anything. And Hall does not stop playing, ever. It doesn’t matter what the score is, she does not relax. A crowd is drawn to her whether she has the ball or not! Built different! (Below with ball)
#3 Ky’Aira Miller Ky’Aira Miller 5'6" | CG Purcell Marian | 2025 State OH – 2025, Purcell Marian: Back to back 3’s! And she had a move in the state semi final game that looked very much like MiLaysia Fulwiley from South Carolina! You know it’s a stellar move when the crowd says “Whoa!!!” Special player, with lightening speed and agility!
#1 Cy’Aira Miller Cy’Aira Miller 5'6" | CG Purcell Marian | 2025 State OH – 2025, Purcell Marian: Miller With a three! And another three! Outstanding stop and go movements with the ball, a nightmare defender, and knows where to be, at the right time. Her presence and athleticism on both ends of the court is just as important than any stat.
#12 McKenzie Jones McKenzie Jones 5'11" | PF Purcell Marian | 2026 State OH – 2026, Purcell Marian: When Jones has that look in her eyes of “You will not outwork or out hustle me,” watch out! She took a charge which really fueled the team! McKenzie is so good at put backs! She just glides in the air while catching the rock and lays it in on transition.
#4 Jeniya Bowers Jeniya Bowers 5'8" | PG Africentric | 2026 State OH – 2026, Africentric: I love her floater jump shots in the paint! Hard to defend this move to the basket! Bowers’ handles are tight- her cross over is crazy good! Cannot foul her, bc those are freebies for Bowers. She puts so much pressure on the ball- fantastic reaction time!
#11 Shaunie Little Shaunie Little 5'5" | CG Africentric | 2025 OH – 2025, Africentric: Confident taking the 3, and knocking it down early in the first quarter. Tough And-1! Little’s motor, how she connects from the line with confidence, and forcing the defense to come at her as she dishes off to a teammate- those are the big plays that add up quickly!
#1 Ashtan Winfrey- 2024, Africentric: Jumper in the paint- textbook perfect! Quickness, and her ability to hang in the air is amazing to watch! The 6-8 ft. floaters- that is her signature shot! And her defense- she doesn’t allow many players to get past her! She. Can. Jump! (Below on defense)
#4 Karsyn Erford Karsyn Erford 5'4" | PG Ottawa Glandorf | 2026 State OH – 2026, Ottawa-Glandorf: Quick jump shot- nothing but nylon! She attacks the basket! Karsyn is playing big- creating buckets! She finds the open spots on the court so well! Her blocks are impressive- and she’s 5’8. Erford comes out of nowhere and shows poise! This young lady can be fouled the length of the floor while dribbling, and still make the shot! My goodness, double pump in the air- preventing a block! (Featured Photo)
#5 Carlie Brinkman Carlie Brinkman 5'7" | SG Ottawa Glandorf | 2025 OH – 2025, Ottawa- Glandorf: Boy, when she makes up her mind to go to the basket, no one’s stopping her! Great job anticipating passes! Speed and hustle- let’s just say with her motor, she makes her opponents work! Recognizes when to pass off the ball which results in easy buckets and assists.
#24 Maddie Cerovac- 2025, Olmsted Falls: Wow, what a spin move to the basket! She is so physically strong! Maddie can run the point, play the 2-3 position, and can do damage inside! And no turnovers! Outstanding job taking care of the ball.
#25 Emma Schaefer Emma Schaefer 5'11" | CG Olmsted Falls | 2027 State OH – 2027, Olmsted Falls: Emma plays big minutes, and with the championship game on the line, she was on the court. That tells me about the confidence that the coaches have in her ability to make wise decisions. Emma was 4-6 from the charity stripe, made a bucket, but the most impressive stat- no turnovers!
#24 Chloe Downing Chloe Downing 5'10" | SF Springboro | 2024 OH – 2024, Springboro: She makes wise decisions with the basketball- great shot selection. But her defense- she is long! And this gives many guards a more challenging time shooting over her, or passing around Chloe. Aggressive on the boards!
#30 Aniya Trent Aniya Trent 6'1" | PF Springboro | 2025 State OH – 2025, Springboro: Trent is a wall in the paint! Guards and forwards change their shots when they are anywhere near her 6’3 presence. Trent is coming up big the 3rd quarter of championship game. Dominating the inside, rebounding, and connecting from the free throw line. She can go left or right to the basket.
