GameChanger-“A player that suddenly changes the outcome of a game or contest”.
Madison Central won the 44th district championship for the 2nd year in a row after defeating Madison Southern 56-49. Junior guard Nataya Strader Nataya Strader 5’3″ | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY continues to play at a high level for the Lady Indians in the postseason. She scored 17 points in the district title game and followed that up with a clutch performance in the quarterfinals of the regional tourney, scoring a team-high 23 points, including a game-winning floater in the lane to lead her team to victory in a nail-biter against Great Crossing 42-41. Madison Central advances to the semifinals of the 11th region tourney, where they will face the defending region champs Frederick Douglass tonight at 8:00pm.
Fresh off of winning a District Championship and making the 29th District All-Tournament Team, Freshman standout Brynn Brickey Brynn Brickey 5’9″ | SG South Oldham | 2027 State KY rose to the occasion once again in a big moment and delivered when her team needed it the most. In a back and forth battle against Grant County in the regional quarterfinals, “Big Shot” Brynn scored 19 points and hit the go ahead, 3-pointer that helped the Lady Dragons get the win 81-78. South Oldham survived and advanced to the next round of the 8th region tournament, where they will go head to head against Anderson County in the semifinals tomorrow at 8:00pm.

Anaysia Bagwell Anaysia Bagwell 5’7″ | CG Christian County | 2026 State KY went off for a game-high 29 points to help Christian County move past Madisonville-North Hopkins 56-51 in the 2nd region quarterfinals game. The star sophomore delivered from everywhere on the floor, making difficult shots look easy and showed up in a big way in the second half, where she scored 20 of her 29 points. The Lady Colonels will take on a Henderson County team that won the 2nd region last year and made it all the way to the final four of Sweet 16 state tournament.
Todd County Central pulled off one of the biggest upsets in this year’s Regional Tournament. The Lady Rebels stunned Warren East in the quarterfinals 70-64. The teams-leading scorer throughout the regular season Alexis Taylor Alexis Taylor 5’10” | PF Todd County Central | 2025 State KY made a major impact on both ends of the floor, finishing with 23 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in the contest. Todd County Central will matchup against Metcalfe County in the 4th region semifinals at Western Kentucky University tonight at 7:30pm.

Spencer County sent shock waves throughout Kentucky, after beating the defending 8th region champions Simon Kenton in a last second thriller 46-45. Senior Ella Brown was a key contributor for the Lady Bears. She scored a team-high 17 points and came up with a critical steal, then dished a timely assist to Junior Hawley Johnson for the game-winning bucket with 12 seconds left on the clock. Spencer County will take on North Oldham in the semifinals tomorrow at 6:30pm. (Featured Image)
