Zoe Foster
Zoe Foster had a nice day for Thomas Dale, and she elevated her play on a big stage. Zoe is the only Senior starter on Thomas Dale, and she impressed me on both ends. She did a great job on Mia Woolfolk Mia Woolfolk 6’2″ | PF Manchester HS | 2024 State VA and did some great things on offense. She showed off her touch, knocking down short mid-rangers. She finished with a tied team-high of 11 points and 5 rebounds.
One of the big differences in Manchester’s 9-point win over Thomas Dale was the discrepancy in the three-point shooting. The Manchester guards hit some early, which is where their backcourt got much of their offense. Leah Hampton Leah Hampton 5’5″ | PG Manchester | 2024 State VA was the best example, knocking down 2 in the first quarter. She also hit two threes back to back in the 3rd, extending Manchester’s lead to 12 in the third quarter. Leah had a nice drive and scoop finish as well. She hit 4 threes and finished with 14 points overall.
Highlights

She was great on the glass, racking up another double-double. She had a game-sealing bucket and finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Princess Anne defeated James River in the class 5 title game, which was the game of the day. It was high-scoring and high-level. Each of those teams got special performances from their superstar talents. Princess Anne’s Freshman sensation, Micah Ojo Micah Ojo 6’1″ | PF Princess Anne | 2027 State VA , had a brilliant game. Micah’s length and quickness gave James River massive issues. She drove by people finishing inside and knocking down a handful of huge threes. She had two of the biggest defensive plays of this game, one of them being a massive chase-down block with a minute left. Even as a freshman, Micah is one of the best players in the state, and she finished with 31 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. This truly versatile player can play every position and do everything on both sides.
Jizelle James Jizelle James 5’7″ | CG Princess Anne HS | 2026 State VA had a strong performance for Princess Anne. She knocked down a three early and was excellent down the stretch of this game. She was also great defensively when PA decided to double and trap. Jizelle finished with 14 points, second on the team behind Ojo.
As I said, James River vs. Princess Anne had two tremendous performances from two of the best players in the state. Lanie Grant Lanie Grant 5’9″ | PG James River HS | 2024 State VA was unstoppable as a scorer all game. She showed off her ball handling and elite shooting.
