Julia Wolf Julia Wolf 5'10" | CG Milton | 2025 State WI
The Milton wing is one of the more poised kids you’ll find in Wisconsin. She doesn’t rush anything, and everything she does has a purpose.
Wolf has become a dynamic threat on the offensive end. At Milton, she’s become accustomed to playing both on and off the ball, but her role as an off-ball guard is likely where her future lies. She doesn’t have the high-end speed that other kids in the state have, but she creates more space than some of the best athletes in basketball residing in our state because of her ability to play with a change of pace. Defenders sometimes get caught in no man’s land where they don’t play close enough to contest her shot and close enough where she could attack the rim and power right through their hip.
The other aspect of her offensive game I love is her footwork. When she wants to get a shot off the catch, she gets her feet set before touching the ball to skip into her shot. Even when she gets downhill, she can change directions to get into space around the rim and finish through traffic.
A knee injury took away her final run in AAU, but she’s the kind of dedicated player any program wants in their facility daily.
Cambria Carlino Cambria Carlino Kenosha Bradford | 2026 WI
There is plenty to like about Carlino’s game, and after her first season of being in a varsity basketball rotation, she’s still got room to grow.
First, her shot is better than she showed this season and was a weapon for Bradford. The results don’t match how her shot looks, but I’ll chalk that up to being a heavily relied-on varsity-level player for the first time. She has a solid shooting touch, and everything seems fundamentally sound with how she shoots the ball. I believe once she has more reps under her belt at that level, those numbers find their level.
The other main positive of her is her confidence with the ball in her hands. Carlino wasn’t afraid of trying to make a play with the ball and showed some aspects of her game I didn’t expect, like off-hand floaters, for instance. In her final two seasons, she has a base to build off and some well-coached teams in the Southeast Conference that she’ll test herself against and be a good checkpoint to see how far she’s come.
Ashlan Carlow-Blount Ashlan Carlow-Blount 5'10" | CG Maȟpíya Lúta | Red Cloud | 2026 State SD
Carlow-Blount is an athletic guard out of South Dakota who I’ve had the pleasure of seeing play in person on a handful of occasions at various AAU events.
Carlow-Blount is a kid who loves to push the tempo and get everything moving toward the basket as soon as possible, which bends defenses. Everything she does includes as much effort as humanly possible. Whenever I watch her defensively, she plays with a chaotic style, and even in a zone, she finds ways to make things happen on that end of the floor. At her SoDak 16 game, Carlow-Blount was at her best. She finished with 27pts, 9asts, 5rebs, and 3stls.
If you watch that game, which I’ll link, you can see how much passion she puts into every possession and how much every move she makes matters to her. Having a kid who can score in bunches but is willing to make the right reads is uncommon to see when you know a kid can score it as well as her.
For those who haven’t watched her play, I highly recommend watching her film I link below.
Kendall Schmitz Kendall Schmitz 5'4" | PG Manitowoc Lincoln | 2027 WI
If you’re partial to kids who play with a high motor, then you’d love watching Kendall Schmitz Kendall Schmitz 5'4" | PG Manitowoc Lincoln | 2027 WI .
People always say they’d rather have a player who flies up and down the floor and tries to give everything they have each possession, usually because it’s easier to reign those kids in than to speed up kids who come in and are lackadaisical.
Skill-wise, there’s plenty to like, and the results for her will come as she matures as a person and player. For instance, her shot will come along because it looks good, and she’s a kid who’ll get reps in on her own, athletic enough to get to the rim, and makes plays for others.
Over the next year or two, she’ll become an integral part of Manitowoc Lincoln’s offense and defense over the next three seasons. Her effort and tenacity are indispensable and contagious to everyone around her. Once she gets into a rhythm, she’ll become one of the most frustrating kids to prepare for in the FRCC.
