A guard with great activity, she stays ready to go on offense, making quick moves off the catch and does a great job getting to the middle where she can get to the rim or pull up short for quick floaters. She shows really good acceleration and deceleration, keeping defenders off balance while staying under control. Gosney competes on the defensive end too, getting low in her stance and playing sticky defense on the ball.
Herrin’s a tall guard/wing who has great pace with the ball, can go the length of the court and shows some good athleticism and focus on her finishes at the rim. She’s also a menace on defense, playing the top of their zone and using that length to tip passes, shut down passing lanes, and stay active covering lots of ground. Her length allows her to capably contest shots and block some in near the rim. She’s a really interesting prospect who can cause a lot of problems with her size and activity.
A versatile guard who makes an impact all over the floor, Ajayi is a stout defender, fighting through screens, staying solid and in front of ballhandlers. She’s strong enough and shows the aggression needed to contribute on the glass as well as play with her back to the hoop on offense. She’s just a tough player who runs the show and has proven she can score the rock with some nice shooting and good touch around the paint.
A tough combo guard, Lewis plays a strong game, she’s quick and strong to loose balls and rebounds, can push the pace in transition, and does an excellent job distributing the ball with both the simple and more intricate passes. She does a good job keeping it simple with the dribble, making one or two good moves and getting north and south. She can finish with contact at the rim and is firmly a player to watch over the spring who should step into an even larger role next season with Garfield.
A quintessential point guard who can make all the passes, operates with a tight handle and is constantly keeping the ball flowing. She helped play a big role for Camas this past year on their way to a 4A state title and has a high basketball IQ to read defenses and make the right play. Does a good job with ball fakes, hesitations, and moving defenders with her eyes. Also has the quickness and short burst to attack gaps and collapse defenses. Tough on both ends of the floor, she should be one of the top players in her class heading into next high school season.
