Continue ReadingI’ve always thought snub was a tough word. Every young lady that made the All-State team is a very deserving recipient. With that being said, there were several players that could make their own case for being an All-Stater. Having served myself on the OGBCA All-State committee, I will lift the curtain a bit and say that it is increasingly difficult to make the squad without State Tournament appearances, although not impossible. I present to you eight players that would not have been out of place at all on this year’s OGBCA squad.
Choctaw shooting guard helped lead her team to a 24-2 record as a senior, a seven game improvement from last season. She has commited to play at Oklahoma Baptist University
Highlights
Headed to Friends University in the fall, Peeler helped take Edmond North to the state finals this season after an undefeated championship run last year.
Deer Creek- Strong small forward glass-cleaner with a terrific mid-post game. Imani was a huge bright spot for Deer Creek this season. Averaged nine points per game for the Antlers. WIll be taking her talents to Oklahoma City University next season.
Midwest City speedy guard was a monster in passing lanes, and made a lot of things happen this season. Started her career at Carl Albert before ending her career with the Bombers.
Arrived to Midwest City this season after starting her career at Enid. Finished the season very strong for Midwest City made a State Tournament run this year.
Versatile 6 footer is headed to Oklahoma City University in the fall. Her game reminds me a lot of Kevin Love, averaged nine points a night for Moore.
Highlights
A member of two State Championship teams at Edmond North, Mallory did a little bit of everything for the Huskies.
Averaged 11 points a game this season for Deer Creek. Massey is a three-level scorer who changes speed and direction quickly. Headed to NOC-Enid to be a Jet.
