Continue ReadingThe LBI April Showers Classic hosted many great prospects and teams from multiple states for a two-day event on April 13-14th. Some new names emerged and familiar high school season high flyers also showed their skills on the hardwood. Here is the first group of 2026’s who I saw seize the moment on Saturday.
Marissa Justen Marissa Justen 5’9″ Central Catholic | 2026 OH was an effective offensive performer for Rice Basketball Academy 2026 at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She had her sites lined up from deep, draining 3’s from up top and the wing. Marissa is a lengthy guard with the handles to use a variety of crossovers to create space off the dribble. She sees the floor well and produces on the boards for her team.
Keira Roehm Keira Roehm 5’7″ | SG Saline | 2026 State MI played efficient offensive basketball for Mystics 16U-P24 at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She was on fire from outside hitting multiple 3’s from deep, while converting a baseline drive off glass. Keira finished strong in the paint through a foul off glass and then knocked down her free throw. Her range and quickness downhill on drives make her a challenge for defenders to stop.
Highlights
Gabby Piepho Gabby Piepho CG Howell | 2026 State MI performed at a high level offensively for Michigan Drive Express 16U S40 at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She finished contested looks in the paint, scoring in transition through a foul. Gabby knocked down a wing 3, used a crossover to beat her defender downhill to score, and drove hard into contact with her left to earn free throw attempts. Gabby played with poise under pressure against a challenging opponent.
Grace Boher
Grace Boher
Grace Boher is a lengthy wing for Northern Pride who made herself impossible to miss at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She was a fierce rim protector, blocking at least 5 shot attempts in the paint. She used her quickness, height, and physicality down low to secure offensive rebounds and score inside. Grace elevated to score a strong left-handed finish through a foul, then made her free throw. Her efficiency finishing in the paint and defensive determination helped secure the victory for her team. She is an under-the-radar prospect with athleticism and length who coaches will want to see this spring.
