Spring and summer club basketball season has gotten under way. Many teams are still in the formation stage while others hit the hardwoods running right after the conclusion of the 2024 high school state basketball championships. As part of my preview of club teams enjoy this look at [program_tooltip program_id='715510' first='365' last='Hoops Elite'], a program based in southeast Kansas that will be playing events on the Prep Girls Hoops Dynasty Circuit. The team is composed of players from Kansas and Oklahoma.

Matney Epperson, 5'4", PG, Dewey (OK), 2026 - Epperson is a crafty point guard who handles with her head up and with good court awareness in transition. She has a very good change of pace dribble and is a consistent perimeter shooting threat.

Sarah Uhner, 5'2", SG, Chanute, 2027 - Uhner is a young shooter who spots up well who I expect to see work on cutting down on wasted movement and improve upon her release speed. She sits on passing lanes and goes coast-to-coast in with solid speed.

Ayla Hency, 5'10", CG, Vinita (OK), 2028 - Hency is a high potential guard who led her junior high team in scoring at 20 points per game as well as in other statistical categories.

[player_tooltip player_id='880997' first='Kimmy' last='Combs'], 5'10", C/PF, Neodesha, 2026 - Combs missed a lot of time last summer recovering from injury but she leveraged what work she was able to get in into a Tri Valley League second team selection last season. An athletic big with good size and speed Combs showed in the Blue Streaks' sub-state final loss to Cheney that she can flat out shoot the ball from all around the perimeter and with range.

[player_tooltip player_id='574242' first='Nellie' last='Holcomb'], 5'3", CG, Barnsdall (OK), 2026 - Holcomb earned Super 6 Conference first team honors last season. My colleagues Johnny Vick and Jason Green saw her play in the past and were impressed with her patience working in the half court, reading screens and shooting off the dribble. She handles low to the floor and with quickness, shoots the ball with range and no wasted movement, and just scores well at all three levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='846974' first='Camrin' last='Jones'], 5'9", SF, Dewey (OK), 2026 - My colleague Jason Green and I both had opportunities to see Jones play last summer and we both liked a lot about her game. "CJ" is a high energy, very active, lengthy forward with terrific speed. She shoots the ball with a quick release, range and a good stroke. She uses her physical talents to defend smartly, block shots, and generate steals. I also like how well she dishes on the fly. Jones earned all-Northeast Valley Conference honors last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='544026' first='Alysa' last='Scott'], 5'2", SG, Caney Valley, 2026 - Scott is a swift shooter who spots up and catches well to get off a quick shot with range. She can score from the perimeter in flurries. Scott is also a solid, quick perimeter defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='923038' first='Sara' last='Hency'], 5'10", C/PF, Vinita (OK), 2026 - Hency is a solidly build post with good north-south speed. Physically strong with good scoring ability off the dribble from 10' in Hency elevates on her shots, including with her mid-range jumpers. If she can add some inches to her hops she will be even more difficult to handle with the ball and on the rebound. Hency was a Verdigris Valley Conference honorable mention selection last season.
