The stars of 2024 will shine one more time on Saturday
A celebration of high school basketball and those who have played it at a very high level over the past few seasons. That's what's on the docket this Friday and Saturday in Northfield as the Minnesota Girls Basketball High School All-Star game takes place at Carleton College. The festivities begin with a banquet on Friday where the players and coaches will be introduced and the selection of Miss Basketball will be announced. The six finalists include:

The festivities continue on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. with a free basketball clinic for kids from kindergarten through 5th grade, followed by back-to-back all-star games at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Admission is free for the games, as well.
A Who's Who of Minnesota seniors
The high school all-star game is organized by the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association, which selects the top 10 senior basketball players from each of the four classes. The event is designed to celebrate the great careers of these 40 athletes and allows them to come together to play one last time as a group. The teams will be made up of players from all four classes, enabling the athletes to play with and against their peers from across Minnesota.
High school head coaches must be part of the association for their player to be eligible to play in the game. Section representatives from each class select the players who are invited. With so much talent in the senior class it's not easy to choose. Among this year's participants, there are 15 Division 1 commits (with a couple of announcements pending) who will play on Saturday, and a similar number who have signed to play D2. Just two of the selections are unavailable to play ([player_tooltip player_id='178269' first='Liv' last='McGill'] of Hopkins and [player_tooltip player_id='178274' first='Amy' last='Thompson'] of Stillwater) while several will sit out with injuries.
