There’s plenty of talent and exciting names scattered throughout that we’re excited to talk about.
Sammi Santacroce Sammi Santacroce 5'5" | CG North Haven | 2026 State New E – Suffield Academy (2026)
Santacroce is everything you’re looking for in a guard, starting with demeanor on the floor. She’s had some experience running the point at Suffield and has done a fantastic job. She plays with confidence and looks confident on the floor. That’s carried over into everything she does, from shooting and scoring to passing, driving and defending. Just an all-around solid player with plenty of room to grow.
Emma Huedepohl – Bethel (2025)
Another guard, Huedepohl is a versatile guard, playing both the 1 and the 2. An all-state selection at Bethel and one of the better players in Connecticut, she’s certainly been a piece to build around in recent years. Fantastic skillset and high basketball IQ. Really impressive skillset out of the gates, a statsheet stuffer, but someone who truly plays with purpose and plays with her heart on her sleeve.
Shania Howard Shania Howard 5'7" | SG Holy Cross | 2025 State New E – Holy Cross (2025)
Howard was undoubtedly one of the leaders on Holy Cross this past season, a big reason why they made a deep run in the state tournament. Her defense speaks volumes for the player she’s become, someone who’s found a way to cause turnovers, create havoc on the other side of the court, and use that toward generating fast break opportunities the other way. Really creative player with a great knowledge of and feel for the game.
Georgia Patterson – St. Michael’s (2025)
Patterson is one of several rising seniors on this roster, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge onto the team this spring and summer. This summer is a big one for the versatile guard to get noticed, but more importantly, improve her overall game in a number of different ways. She’s a shot-creator, a difference-maker and a pure scorer. She wants the ball in her hands when the lights are brightest.
Summer Wish – Bethel (2025)
Another rising senior on this list, Wish has proven plenty over the last three years, excelling to new heights as a junior. Her proving ground is right here, right now with CBC and she’s already capitalizing off of it. We’ve seen her as a jack of all trades on the court, a do-it-all kind of player with speed that kills and passing that excites. Great scorer, fantastic defender and someone who teams can play through or user her to play through others.
Mila Harmon – St. Joseph (2027)
There are certainly a lot of guards on this roster, but Harmon is one of a few specialized forwards, especially those that really just play down low and excel there. She’s one of two freshman we’ll be talking about in this article, but she showed last season that she can hang with the big dogs and hold her own. Great mobility and someone who’s dominated on the glass. Versatile and quick with a smooth touch around the rim offensively..
Tessa Porch – Hamden Hall (2026)
Porch is listed as a power forward, an undersized power forward at that, standing just 5-9, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t hold her own on the post. As we’ve talked about with others on this roster, it really comes down to skillset and feel, and she’s got both and then some. Strong rebounder, great post defender and a great overall scorer. Fantastic addition next season for Hamden Hall.
Alannah Baehr – Suffield Academy (2027)
We got a chance to talk about Baehr’s high school teammate above, but it’s time to focus on the freshman, someone who had a fantastic season with Suffield this past season. What she has that many other guards don’t have is size, a 6-0 combo guard with great handles and driving ability. Baehr can control the pace of the game from the top of the key. She’s quick and agile on the floor. Also, just a tenacious player, a true hard-worker.
Eva Stirk – Hopkins School (2026)
Stirk has size down low. You cannot teach size and that goes for both taller guards and for bigs, but standing at 6-3, she just has that natural height and reach advantage. If anything, the biggest keys for her has been to play to her strengths and get her feet under her. We know she can dominate on the post. We know how good of a rebounder and interior scorer she is. Stirk is putting everything together and just having fun out there.
Maddie Topa – Northwestern Regional (2025)
Topa is a mainstay for Northwestern Regional in recent years and a true veteran, upperclass leader. High basketball IQ and quick reflexes/movement to get to a pass to intercept it or something of the sort. Goes all-out on the court. Will fight for loose balls or dive to keep a possession alive. Shoots the three well, both contested and uncontested, and has shown fantastic on-ball and off-ball movement for shots.
