To combat those reasons for low exposure I created a new series of reports to provide extra exposure for both ranked and unranked Kansas talent. These reports won’t be organized by position, school size, club team, league, region, graduation year, or statistical category. These reports will include athletes that data suggest need more exposure or athletes I feel need extra exposure.
Here are five athletes that I am happy to welcome to “Capt. Conan’s Coverage Club,” in this third edition of the new series of reports.
Sayler Stapleton Sayler Stapleton 5'4" | SG Meade | 2027 State KS , 5’4”, SG, Meade, ‘27
Stapleton is a ranked athlete in the class of 2027 deserving of membership into the Coverage Club. She is a quality scorer for the Buffaloes who practices solid shot selection. As a freshman, she shot 62 percent from the free-throw line. In 24 games she also shot 35 percent from the field and 31 percent from three-point range. Stapleton is currently ranked No. 59 overall by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas.
KK Emmot KK Emmot 5'7" | SG Shawnee Heights | 2027 State KS , 5’7”, SG, Shawnee Heights, ‘25
Emmot was a player I got to scout in person this past season. The Thunderbird guard is quick and athletic. For a freshman, she plays well under pressure. She understands the importance of protecting the ball and making each possession count. Her scoring will continue to improve as she gains varsity experience.
Hope Hughes Hope Hughes 5'8" | SG Pratt | 2026 State KS , 5’8”, SG, Pratt, ‘26
Hughes is a ranked prospect who has not seen enough coverage. She is currently ranked No. 43 overall and plays well on both ends of the court for the Pratt Greenbacks. She runs the floor well and plays unselfish basketball. She has a big reach which helps her grab rebounds and create steals.
Charley Hill Charley Hill 5'9" | SF Wichita North | 2026 State KS , 5’9”, SF, Wichita North, ‘26
The Redhawks have a versatile athlete in the class of 2026. Hill can play multiple positions. She has the speed and ball-handling skills to play both guard spots in an offense. She also had the size and toughness to be a factor in the paint. The Wichita North prospect is currently ranked No. 58 overall in the class of 2026.
Brittan Zeka Brittan Zeka 5'10" | CG Wellington | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, CG, Wellington, ‘25
Zeka has never seen a shot from deep she didn’t like. The Wellington Crusader has a sweet-looking jump shot and can hit from way downtown. She has a high basketball IQ and understands the commitment it takes to be a winner and leader on the court. She is currently ranked No. 19 overall by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas.
