This series of reports won’t be organized by position, school size, club team, league, region, graduation year, or any statistical category. These reports will include athletes that data suggest need more exposure or athletes, I feel need extra exposure.
Here are five athletes that I am happy to welcome to “Capt. Conan’s Coverage Club,” in this second edition of the new series of reports.
Samantha Stover Samantha Stover 5'7" | SG Neodesha | 2025 State KS , 5’7”, SG, Neodesha, ‘25
Stover is currently ranked No. 137 overall by Prep Girls Hoops. She is a dual-sport prospect who also excels in volleyball. Stover can hold her own in the paint and uses her physical skills to provide a strong rebounding presence. She had a big sophomore season on the volleyball court posting an impressive stat line that included 142 kills, 267 assists, 269 digs, and 211 serve receptions.
Madelyn Wilson Madelyn Wilson 6'2" | C Chase County | 2026 State KS , 6’2”, C, Chase County, ‘26
A member of the class of 2026 who has not gotten a large amount of coverage is Chase County’s Wilson. She is a dual-sport athlete who also competes for the softball team. She is a natural athlete with a nice combination of height and speed. She has nice court vision and can find holes in a defense.
Hannah Lester Hannah Lester 5'3" | PG Olathe West | 2026 State KS , 5’3”, PG, Olathe West, ‘26
The Olathe West Owls have a young point guard coaches should begin watching. Lester is a quick point guard who does a nice job taking care of the ball. She can push the pace and get a team out in transition, but she also has the patience and discipline to run the half-court offense. Lester is currently ranked No. 45 overall and is the tenth-ranked point guard in the Kansas Class of 2026.
Riley Riggs Riley Riggs 6'0" | PF Mill Valley | 2027 State KS , 6’0”, PF, Mill Valley, ‘27
Riggs is a young dual-sport athlete who will be featured on multiple Prep Network websites. The Mill Valley prospect is currently ranked No. 21 by Prep Hopps in the class of 2027. Prep Dig Kansas has her ranked No. 3 overall and as the second-ranked outside hitter in Kansas. During her freshman season, she recorded 299 kills and 32 blocks for the Class 6A State Champion Jaguars. She has natural jumping ability and will benefit from playing both sports until she figures out which sport gives her the best opportunity to play collegiately.
Mac Medlock Mac Medlock 5'10" | CG Burlington | 2027 State KS , 5’10”, CG, Burlington, ‘27 The Burlington Wildcats have a two-sport athlete to watch. Medlock is currently ranked No. 45 overall by Prep Girls Hoops. She plays basketball and volleyball and plays club basketball with MOKAN Basketball. She has “impact-size” which she can utilize on both courts.
