As session one of the spring Grassroots season comes to an end, we look to update our rankings for each class in preparation for the summer high school season and the second session of Grassroots basketball. There were many prospects who demonstrated a progression in their game during the high school season and added an exclamation point with a strong Grassroots session this spring. These are the shooting guards who shot up our rankings with their outstanding performance in front of our scouts during the high school and Grassroots season.

Addison is a special shooting guard/wing combo prospect who can competently play any position on the court. She earned BCAM All-State D2 honors following her dominant high school campaign and earned three individual state titles in the high jump, 100, and 200 for track. Needless to say, Addison is an exceptional athlete and those characteristics translate directly to her game on the basketball court. She uses combo attack dribble moves to blow by defenders on her way to finishing with elevation in the paint. Addison is an excellent passer and knows how to find open teammates for kickouts on her drives. She works hard defensively to disrupt passes and cut off drives. Addison surpassed 1,000 points as a junior for her career and is a complete prospect who we believe deserves the recognition as Michigan's top SG prospect in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='519162' first='Haven' last='Chapman'] was a promising prospect and outstanding high school player this past winter, but her development and progress to become an elite SG/W combo prospect this spring is what has impressed our staff. Haven has fine-tuned her game to develop a consistent shot from beyond the arc to complement her offensive abilities to attack and score off the dribble. She has improved her footwork inside to finish with drop steps and pivots, Haven has demonstrated exceptional on-ball defense against next-level guard and forward prospects. She uses quick footwork to cut off dribble drives and her length causes havoc for opposing guards. Haven has performed at an extremely high level this spring and has not reached her ceiling yet as a prospect. Haven earned D4 All-State honors following her high school season and we are excited to recognize her as one of the best SG's in Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id='424142' first='Olivia' last='Flynn']-5-9-Mystics Ruh-Harbor Springs

Olivia has had a record-shattering career at Harbor Springs, becoming the all-time leading scorer with 1,758 pts as a junior, while averaging over 26 pts a game. Olivia earned D3 All-State First Team honors last winter and has continued to build on that pedigree with a strong Grassroots season against elite-level college recruits this spring. She is an efficient shooter from beyond the arc and handles the ball with poise under pressure. Olivia drives with her head up and delivers accurate passes with both hands when she draws help defenders. She can stop on a dime to shoot accurately off the dribble from a balanced platform for mid-range or three-point field goals. Olivia is well deserving of her high ranking and she has earned multiple D1 and D2 offers with her consistency as one of Michigan's top guard prospects.

Izzy has battled through adversity after experiencing an injury to come back and prove herself to be one of the top Michigan shooting guards of the 2025 class. Izzy uses her length and quickness to disrupt passes on defense and attack downhill to score with a variety of finishing moves in the paint. Something I continually hear from college coaches and what I have observed all spring is how efficient Izzy is at scoring off of two feet in the paint. She scores contested baskets off the dribble and off the catch inside with both hands by elevation off two effectively. Izzy's reputation as a 3-point shooter has been confirmed in full this spring. She consistently rips the net from beyond the arc and shoots from a balanced platform with a textbook high release on her follow-through. Izzy has earned recognition by our staff as a fantastic next-level guard in our rankings and earned All-League OAA-Red honors last winter.

Allison played a key role in Holt's regional championship run last winter and she has continued to impress our scouts this spring during the Grassroots season. Allison uses a quick first step off the dribble to beat her defender to the basket and has the touch to finish from tough angles at the rim. Allison is strong and uses that to her advantage on both sides of the court. She shoots from a balanced platform off the hop with a quick release and her high-arcing shot is extremely difficult to block. Allison attacks full speed on her drives and has the ability to change directions with different dribble moves. She is an excellent prospect and well deserving of being added to our rankings.

Khalia is a shooting guard prospect who impressed me greatly both at practice and in tournaments this spring. She has quickness off the dribble to beat her defender and score on drives, while shooting accurately from beyond the arc with a balanced release. Khalia works hard for rebounds and is a prospect who has next-level potential.

Rylee was a prospect who stood out for Essexville Garber last winter as a dynamic scorer and next-level guard prospect. She earned TVC Red All-Conference 2nd Team honors and demonstrated skills and leadership qualities that earned her a place in our rankings. Rylee energizes her team by being a vocal communicator on defense and high-fives teammates after mistakes to pick them up. She attacks downhill using a variety of dribble combinations and has the footwork to score in traffic. Rylee shoots with pinpoint accuracy from beyond the arc, which makes her a dangerous scoring threat at multiple levels. Rylee pressures the ball on defense and uses her length to create turnovers. She is a multi-sport athlete who did not compete on the travel circuit this spring, but is a guard who I believe should be recruited by coaches at the next level for basketball.
