Another June sees Milton High School and Head Coach Julian Barfield hosting their highly competitive Summer Swish League. I was there competing with my own Mt Bethel Girls team and got a look before and after our games to see some of the other eye-catching talent on hand.

Major post force playing through contact who can step out beyond the arc and hurt you there as well, after playing alongside a lot of size in recent seasons with the Knights it's her paint now and I love how Head Coach Aisha Kennedy uses her, excellent footwork as a back-to-basket threat or facing up from 15 feet and in, tenacious rebounder as well as a vocal and sound defender for what is sure to be after capturing the last two A-D1 state titles another state-contending bunch in Alpharetta, most recent offers include Mercer and Elon.

Lightning quick with the ball and incorporates plenty of wiggle with a fundamentally sound approach as a lead guard that has her near the top of the 2026 guard rankings, still just a rising junior she's had the ball in her hands a lot for the two-time defending A-D1 state champ Knights and is mature beyond her years, while the truly eye-popping moments mostly happen in the open floor and as a slick facilitator if you sleep on her from 3-pt range she can put fat numbers on the scoresheet there as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='335868' first='Avery' last='Huffman'] | Guard | Denmark | 2025

Pure knockdown shooting ability is her rep even if she had something of an off tilt when I caught her in Milton last week, but still you can see the catch-and-shoot prowess in the pure release and the willingness to move away from the ball with aplomb, in the absence of [player_tooltip player_id='335863' first='Hannah' last='Lopez'] has to carry a heavy load for the Lady Danes both on and off the ball but shows great leadership on the floor and her encouragement of her teammates and body language also gain high marks.

[player_tooltip player_id='541420' first='Marisa' last='Taylor'] | Forward | Valor Christian | 2026

At 6-4 can simply be overpowering at times around the basket but was intrigued to see her step out and knock down some 3-balls in my first extended action seeing her at Milton, is a worker with and without the ball and doesn't shy away from the dirty work in the paint at both ends, excellent shot-blocker with good timing and sneaky good lateral movement, Valor has been a very strong GAPPS program in recent years taking home a title last season and there's more on this roster to see for sure, Taylor picked up an Air Force offer earlier this month.

Before she torched my Mt Bethel ladies with some impressive open floor run and gun the rumor was she was a fast-riser in the 2028 class, seeing it up close and personal confirmed the rumors for sure as there's a combination of cerebral basketball and pure talent that was impressive, dynamite passer in the halfcourt and more so out in space where she sees the floor like a more seasoned player, just has the "it" factor and adding to your defensive challenges she can light it up from deep range as well, sister Madison is a 2027 with plenty of ability as well and the two together make for some fun basketball.
