SAU Shootout: Heat Advisory Breakouts

With 90-degree heat outside, there were many high school prospects providing offensive and defensive heat inside the gym. Kendyl connected on 3s from the wing and corner off the catch, then dove on the floor to fight for a 50/50 ball. Deziray used her length to deflect many passes guarding the ball and she secured the ball then beat everyone to the rim for a layup off two feet. Deziray drilled a 3 up top off the bounce and scored through a foul on her drive to the rim. She rebounded using a solid box-out technique, sealed for an entry pass then used a spin dribble to draw a foul, and dished an assist after drawing a help defender. Ava stole a pass off a BLOB, crashed the boards for an offensive rebound put back off two, and blocked shots. Gracie blocked many shots in the paint using her volleyball skills and knocked down a mid-range jumper. Haley uses quick crossovers with a burst to beat defenders; she beat her defender with a spin dribble to score a floater and hit another one in the paint on her drive. Haley used a stutter dribble to freeze her defender and then blew by for a contested layup.
