June 14th-15th I attended the annual Section-7 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. I watched as many Arizona teams as I could over the two days, as there were around 40 teams who represented the prestigious event.

Here were some of the top senior forwards I watched

[player_tooltip player_id='530987' first='Navae' last='Guidry'] Mesquite

A combo forward with sticky hands. She rebounds everything near her and has advanced post footwork. Her ability to dribble the ball better then most forwards and her natural quickness and athleticism makes her a difficult matchup. She crashes the glass and is a good passer. She will also occasionally face up and shoot it.

[player_tooltip player_id='673101' first='Demetria' last='Dosela'] Miami

A versatile lefty combo forward is highly skilled to the three point line. She will dribble drive and score thru contact. She can take the ball off the glass and will push it up the court and take it coast to coast. She is a true mismatch in the AIA and one of the hardest player to defend in 2A.

[player_tooltip player_id='825620' first='Norah' last='Moo'] Pinnacle

A tall and long armed post player is a rebound chaser with her strong hands and stronger base. She scores with left or right hand hook shots plus has good hands to catch tough passes in heavy traffic. She gives her team extra possessions and she will have a big year.

[player_tooltip player_id='602888' first='Jada' last='Wilson'] Valley Vista (Pictured)

A defensive forward runs the court well in transition and plays the passing lanes. She has a good motor and is a quick second jumper to get on the glass. Her ability to defend a way bigger post player and then switch onto a smaller point guard makes her valuable to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='608973' first='Savanna' last='Dotray'] Sunrise Mountain

A bigger point guard or point forward type plays with great pace to her game. Her feel for the game is super high. She will score with offensive rebound put backs, mid-range pull-ups off the dribble and take it to the rim and handle the bump. She is active to close out to shooters to block shots and talks a lot on defense. She is a true leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='558902' first='Hannah' last='Williams'] Salpointe Catholic

A fluid forward who is active on defense and constantly talking on both ends of the court. She will dive on the floor for a loose ball, grab rebounds in and out of her area and aggressively drive to the rim. She can handle the ball and create a little offense for herself.

[player_tooltip player_id='855693' first='Jaden' last='Maza'] Sunrise Mountain

A wing forward handles some of the backup point guard role. She scores with catch and shoot threes and will step into deep shots off the dribble. She will dribble drive and score and-1's thru contact. She takes pressure off of [player_tooltip player_id='608973' first='Savanna' last='Dotray'] and [player_tooltip player_id='837250' first='Addison' last='Wiemann'].
