Whether it's been me not being at the same events or wanting to see more of some players this summer, I have a handful of kids I'd like to see this July. Today, we'll highlight some kids who fit that bill for me.

We talked about her fellow 2027 at MAS in the other article today, but Guy has become one of my favorite kids to watch in her class. The 5'10 can do anything you'd want a guard or wing to do. The one thing I've admired about her since I saw her for the first time was her competitiveness. She came off the bench when I saw her play at MAS, and she immediately went out and defended the best player on the other team. That was my first impression of her, and her effort, ability to make some shots, finishing around the rim, and length have only added to the reasons I've liked watching her play.

There's always a certain allure to kids who are 6'0 physical and athletic. People always want 6'0 wings who can score the ball, but Hawk has the potential to be a kid who could blanket kids like that. She's always been an excellent athlete and has had a high motor. Her development has been honing in the things that make her valuable. For instance, I've talked about her being talented enough to defend gifted scorers, but the problem had been foul trouble in her past. However, that seems to have been something she's resolved. Hawk may not be a kid who scores 20 per game and jumps out of the box score, but kids like her will always have a place on the court.

I've been a noted fan of Sheplee for a while, but she's put all the physical tools together and exploded onto the national scene this AAU season. The 6'3 wing from Rice Lake has been a handful for EYBL defenses to defend when she's on the floor. She's been the primary scoring option for [program_tooltip program_id='715882' first='Wisconsin' last='Flight Elite'] when she's been healthy, and she's been one of the best volume and efficient scorers in the best circuit in the country. Her skill set is one you don't see often, and being from the Northwest part of the state, most of us don't get a chance to see her in person, so I'm eager to see her in Louisville and Chicago.

The St. Joseph Catholic wing has continued to improve in settings that most wouldn't be able to. McLain played on a team that wasn't among the top in the Metro Classic when arriving. Those kids worked to become one of the better teams in the Metro Classic. In the AAU world, McLain has bounced back and forth with the 2026 and 2025 Midwest Elite Meanstreets EYBL teams and found ways to help those teams compete. She's played different roles on all those teams and still been a kid who's been a valuable piece to any group she's been with. The deeper you dive into her playing history, the more impressive her accomplishments seem. She's a worker, and the type of player programs would like in their facilities daily.
