Prepare 2 Win Basketball: 2025 Team Preview

There are very few joys in life greater than finding unknown and unseen prospects throughout the state who have next-level qualities and simply need a coach to believe in them. The past two years as a varsity head coach, travel coach, and last year as a scout for PGH have confirmed the truth that there is always another high school basketball player with potential who hasn't been noticed yet. I love scouting and writing, but my first love will always be coaching basketball. Three years ago, I began my high school girls' basketball coaching career as a Freshman head coach at Howell. Next, I led the Lapeer Girls Basketball Program as Director and Varsity head coach for two years. My coaching mission is to empower high school girls' basketball athletes with the values and fundamental skills they need to be successful in basketball and life, which will continue through my [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] program.   I have selected a combination of 11 NAIA, D3, and JUCO level prospects to compete for my 2025 P2W team on July 7th at the Mitten Summer Showdown at Morey Courts in Mount Pleasant, with a few other prospects competing with us at practice. Many of these student-athletes did not compete on travel teams this spring, but have demonstrated skills with their high school teams that translate to the next level. Lexi has been voted the most improved player every season since her freshman year, sets the standard for competing on the court, and is a great teammate. She has a 4.0 GPA and is also a 2x Motocross State Champ! Lexi has developed great shooting technique and can hit shots from all three levels, while having a burst to beat her defender off the dribble and score on her drives. She battles for 50/50 balls and works hard on defense (MOI, Orthodontics). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/05/practice-edition-tc-elite/">Read more about Lexi</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='519160' first='Maddie' last='Burdis'] #20 is a dynamic guard who has been a leader for Flushing's basketball program and has slipped under the radar because she has not been on the travel circuit this spring. A few of her accolades at Flushing include: 3 year captain, 2x team MVP, 2nd Team All-League, 1st Team All-League, and Dream Team Honorable Mention. This summer I had the chance to watch her compete with Flushing at Summer League and immediately knew I was watching a next-level guard prospect. Maddie is a vocal communicator, a hard worker on both ends, has a high basketball IQ, is a great passer, downhill scorer, shooter, and TOUGH. She checks all the boxes of a college guard and will be fun to see against next-level competition this Sunday (MOI, Sports Medicine). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/06/swartz-creek-summer-heat-2025-impact-players/">Read more about Maddie</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='754242' first='Emily' last='Cates'] #1 is a versatile guard prospect who competes hard on both ends and makes great decisions with the basketball. She showed her toughness this spring by defending forwards on the travel circuit and working hard defensively to create steals and secure rebounds. Emily is an efficient spot-up 3-point shooter and has excellent technique on her release. She handles the ball effectively with both hands, makes great passes, and plays unselfish basketball (MOI, Undecided). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/03/ccsc-at-siena-heights-afternoon-session/">Read more about Emily</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='716681' first='Mackenzy' last='Dennison'] #32 is a guard who caught my attention while coaching against her the past two high school seasons for Croswell-Lexington. She is a guard who has the leadership qualities and fundamental skills colleges want in a prospect. A few of her accolades include: Back to back team MVP (sophomore and junior season), BWAC All-Academic Team, All Thumb Second Team, All BWAC Third Team, BWAC First Team, All County Basketball Second Team, Captains award, and a 4.0 GPA all years of high school. Mackenzy sets herself apart with her constant communication on the court. She hits shots from beyond the arc, makes great passes, attacks downhill off the dribble, and works hard defensively. Mackenzy is a great next-level prospect (MOI, Business Administration). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2023/10/week-two-bell-ringers-at-the-cage/">Read more about Mackenzy</a>     Haile Falcon #5 impressed me last winter with Lake Fenton as a forward with a lot of potential. I saw her again this Summer during high school league multiple times and she confirmed her potential as a next level forward. Haile uses her length to block shots and secure rebounds inside. She runs the floor well in transition and scores off two feet in the paint. Haile communicates well with her teammates and impressed me at practice this week by suggesting that the cutter receiving a screen should communicate with the screener. Her fundamentals are developing, but Haile has the athletic profile and determination to become an excellent forward prospect (MOI, Business Marketing). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/06/swartz-creek-summer-heat-2025-impact-players/">Read more about Haile</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='812946' first='Selah' last='Hernandez'] #0 is a passionate and talented guard prospect who helps make everyone on the team better. She delivers outstanding one-handed passes through narrow openings and is constantly looking to create open shots for teammates. Selah brings the team energy up with her smile, positivity, and verbal encouragement. She has an accurate, high-arcing 3-point shot and finishes with both hands at the rim. Some of her accomplishments in track include 10th place all-time for shot put and 13th place for discus. Selah also enjoys running, calligraphy, singing, and art. I have enjoyed coaching Selah multiple times on my travel teams and her presence makes every team better (MOI, Undecided).     Raegan Jerrell is a glue player that every coach wants to have on their team. She celebrates her teammates, plays unselfish basketball, and is coachable. Raegan is an excellent shooter from beyond the arc and has great vision to find open teammates. She delivers accurate passes and works hard to secure rebounds. Raegan received the team underclassmen award for basketball, while earning team captain and All-State Honorable Mention for Lacrosse as a sophomore. Her favorite food is wings, movie is "Miracle on Ice", and she rocks out to "Party in the USA"! (MOI, Sports Management/Engineering) <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2023/11/team-preview-rochester-adams-girls-basketball/">Read more about Raegan</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='927438' first='Ella' last='Rizzo'] is a lead guard from Brandon who is full of determination and potential. She was a great side kick to Abney last season and I am excited for her to take on a primary role on the court and as a leader. Ella is a shifty point guard who will beat her defender with crossovers and score with different finishes at the rim. She has good vision with the ball to bring defenders to her off the bounce, but dish the ball to open teammates for assists. Ella has the range to hit shots outside and knock down mid-range jumpers. Ella is the only 2027 on this team and she proved at practice this week she can play up with the older girls. <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/06/hs-summer-leagues-ready-to-lead/">Read more about Ella</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='918932' first='Addie' last='Seemann'] is one of the players who I have watched compete many times and walk away liking something about her game each time. Since I first saw her compete last November at a scrimmage, she has continued to impress with her vocal communication on the floor, hard work ethic, toughness, and two-way abilities. She had a monster game last winter in the Regional finals against Powers Catholic, scoring at will in the paint with drop steps and face-up drives to the rim. Addie is a relentless rebounder who will battle for 50/50 balls on the floor. She has excellent shooting technique, runs the floor extremely well in transition, and competes with a high motor. Addie earned Tri-Valley Conference Red All-Conference First Team Honors last season. Addie is one of the most under-recruited prospects in her class because she was not on the travel circuit this spring (MOI, Civil Engineering). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/03/michigan-high-school-regional-finals/">Read more about Addie</a>     Emmalea Terburgh is a glue player from Midland who does everything to help the team win the court. She sets a high standard for encouragement and vocal communication whether she is in the game or on the sideline. Emmalea is an effective forward prospect who passes well, attacks to score off the dribble, defends without fouling, and extends her shot beyond the arc to bury 3s. Emmalea is a coach on the court who competes with a high motor and great effort at all times. She is a team captain, president of the Meistersingers, and NHS Officer (historian). Emmalea enjoys singing and guitar, her goal is to one day attend the United States Naval Academy to achieve her goal of being an officer in the Marine Corps (MOI, Political Science).     [player_tooltip player_id='773852' first='Faith' last='Zoldos'] is an athletic and competitive guard from Rochester Adams who has been a leader in her high school program since her freshman year. She was All-League in the OAA as a freshman and back-to-back top scorer, but also led the team in blocks and steals, 2nd in rebounds her freshman year. Faith has the speed and determination to chase down a breakaway from behind and block the shot. She is a gym rat, constantly working hard to improve her craft and wants to receive feedback on how to achieve the next level of success. Faith uses her combo-moves and quickness to blow by defenders off the bounce, but will also bury 3s when the defense gives her open looks. Her competitiveness, work ethic, unique abilities, and desire to be great is why I enjoy coaching Faith and she is a must-watch 2026 prospect this Sunday (MOI, Physical Therapy). <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/03/college-coaches-showcase-siena-heights/">Read more about Faith</a>
