R4R Day-1, 2025

It's that time of year again, as the July "live" periods are upon us. The annual Run 4 Roses Classic tournament is underway in Louisville, Kentucky, with more than 80 courts in use. Below is a quick look at a half dozen 2025 prospects who stood out on Day-1 when I was able to see them.   .    When she is able to get her feet set and find rhythm, Lauren is one of the best shooters in the state in 2025. She had a stretch in the second half of Thursday afternoon's game where she caught fire from outside, plus she was aggressive to the basket and earned a nice "and-1" situation. She is an extremely long and wiry lefty, she is a fluid athlete, and in the last year she has really improved her overall awareness, her handle, and her physicality.     Aubrey has played really well this Spring, and she was again good on Thursday. She is proving herself to be a nice small college prospect as a scoring point guard. She has good strength at her size, some length, plus speed & quickness. She has a solid perimeter jumper with some range, but she's also good at breaking down defenses and scoring it or finding teammates. One way or another, she is a point producer.     Libby looked locked in yesterday, and she is a nice, versatile forward who many of the Midwest's top small college programs would like. She has a strong frame, she can be physical, and she will play hard. At the same time, she has a little ball skill, she is an outstanding perimeter shooter when she has time and finds rhythm, and she can attack the basket North/South with some physicality. Defensively, she's better taking on forwards than wings/guards right now.     I haven't had as many opportunities to see Addison this spring as in years past, so it was fun catching her in action again Thursday. She has never been a huge prospect, but she does look noticeably stronger, and she's able to absorb contact better because of it. She has tremendous awareness with the ball in her hands, plus she's a selfless point guard with good vision. She is also a dangerous shooter with range, and she can catch fire quickly. I also really like her scrappiness and quiet toughness at the defensive end of the floor.     It is very easy early on to identify Shaniyah as one of the best athletes on the floor in just about every game she plays. She looks like a track star who could easily be participating in the long jump, high jump, and several sprint events. She has nice length, wiry strength, and a nonstop, aggressive motor. She just goes, and goes, and goes for 32 minutes. She is a talented rebounder and a turnover creating defender. As she continues to build an offensive skillset, she will really help her recruiting.     Emma is someone I saw for the first time at a PGH Top-250 Showcase early in her career. She has done a really nice job of consistently improving each year, adding more and more skill, while developing her strength and maintaining a nice, athletic base. She has some touch around the perimeter now, she's still highly effective in the mid-post, and she plays with a great motor. She pursues rebounds outside of her area, but she also has a quiet toughness and will get physical inside, often battling girls much bigger/stronger than herself.
