Da Future Showcase: 2028 and 2029 Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A primary element of what makes going to any high school girls basketball event intriguing is to observe how younger talents stack up against those who have a bit more experience on their respective resumes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That youth movement held its own this past weekend in Mooresville at Da Future Showcase. Hosted by Carolina Girls Hoops Report, both North and South Carolina were represented along with the nearby states of Georgia and Virginia.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We at Prep Girls Hoops made the trip to the Talbert Recreation Center for all the proceedings this past Saturday. She was with its 2028 team. Her career has also seen her partake in tennis as well as volleyball. As she enters her eighth grade season, there are plenty of reasons why she should be on the radars of many throughout North Carolina. She approaches the game with a heads-up attitude and this is displayed through the speed and agility she displays. Powell is concluding a 2028 where she wore the uniform of [program_tooltip program_id='714762' first='Charlotte' last='Dream Elite']'s 14U assembling. Powell is another multi-sport athlete as she has participated in soccer alongside her basketball accomplishments. The program at 4A Hickory Ridge has had a new notable names sport its signature navy blue uniform and Powell is poised to be another. While she has the build of a three or four, she displays attributes that emphasize her versatility – including ball handling and draining attempts from long range. Two other states were represented as well at the Talbert Recreation Center. One of them was Virginia and the other was Georgia in the form of Edwards. She is also currently in the middle school realm and has played her travel ball with [program_tooltip program_id='713452' first='FBC' last=''] Youngunz. Edwards has no problems delivering strong finishes at the rim and a few of those could be with her left hand. Bostick stands at 5-foot-11 and primarily plays at the three in the frontcourt. She had no problems displaying her shooting prowess in the midrange game along with being able to connect from long range as well. Last season's Knights finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 17-11 record. Fields took to the court in 28 games in her seventh grade season with Northside Christian and recently announced she will take her talents to Winston Salem Christian. The 5-foot-10 Fields will display her versatility as she primarily will play as a forward (usually at the three) while also logging productive minutes as a wing. Fields can deliver a consistent midrange game, superb basket attacking capabilities, and a willingness to draw contact and get to the free throw line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
