In the 28 games that Bostick played last season, she averaged a double-double of 22.3 points and 10.1 rebounds plus three steals. Opponents of 4A South Florence understand that a key to scoring a victory over the Bruins is to contain the team’s star freshman. Aiken did not fare too well in the first round and as the 28 points Bostick scored against Midland Valley displayed, the Mustangs did not fare well either. The Bruins picked up the 54-41 victory over the Mustangs. Bostick also tallied 33 in the first-round contest against the Green Hornets. Friday’s matchup with Midland Valley would see Bostick finish with a double-double as she also brought down 19 rebounds in addition to collecting three steals. South Florence will host Beaufort in the third round of the 4A state tournament.

Bostick notched a major achievement in her still relatively young high school career when she not only earned a berth on the All-Region team but was named All-Region Player of the Year (in back-to-back seasons). The Green Hornets of 4A Aiken had the misfortune of trying to contain said two-time Player of the Year in its first-round contest against South Florence. The contest was all Bruins, all the time. South Florence routed Aiken by a final score of 65-18 and Bostick finished the game with a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds plus four steals. She will look to continue those heroics in the second round against Midland Valley.

For the third time in the last five seasons, the Bruins of 4A South Florence have put together a season with 20 wins and a region championship. When a team has one of the premier young bigs in the state in Bostick, said team will be in the win column more often than not. Bostick has played in all 24 games this season and has nearly a double-double with 22.4 points and 9.6 rebounds in 2025-26. Bostick is also averaging three steals per contest. She has worn the Carolina Hawks uniform during AAU play and also previously ran with Upward Stars where she played up in class on its 16U team. South Florence last appeared in the state championship game in 1995. The most 4A coaches’ poll has the Bruins ranked sixth.

When facing off against the Bruins, one of the primary tasks for any team is to find a way to contain the Bruins’ star freshman – the lone 2029 on this year’s South Florence team. Bostick and her Bruins may have been on the wrong end of a 56-54 decision to Wilson but she helped her team greatly with 18 points. Out of the 18 Bostick scored, 10 occurred in the first half – and eight took place in the first quarter. Defensively, she keeps her arms outstretched and has no issues playing defense either in the paint or on the perimeter. Bostick is a multi-sport athlete who also plays volleyball. She was one of the All-Tournament honorees.

was showing off her shot fakes to get to the basket. She made some nice passes to her teammates as she drew defenders towards her. Her height is already an asset on the court being able to compete with anyone at the high school level.

It was only fitting that one of the 2029s on hand at showcase that featured plenty of seniors and juniors hailed from right up the road at 4A South Florence. Bostick, part of Team Goodson, stands at 5-foot-11 and more than belongs on the same court against more experienced competition. When watching her play, one may think she is a senior or a junior. Bostick will make plenty of plays in the interior on both offense and defense. She also does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line and is ready to box out in case of an opposing player’s missed free throw. She averaged 14.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks last season as an eighth grader for the Bruins.

Speaking of Florence – more specifically 4A South Florence – we shine a spotlight on one of the Pee Dee’s best and brightest. Being a 2029, Bostick has plenty of time to stack offers and her latest one was of the in-state variety courtesy of Presbyterian and coach Tiffany Sardin. Bostick’s offer from Presby is her second offer as she landed one early in the calendar from another in-state school in South Carolina State. As an eighth grader with the Bruins, she proudly wore South Florence colors on 25 occasions and averaged 14.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks for a team that finished with a record of 16-9.

Speaking of noteworthy prospects that were part of that Adidas live period get-together in Rock Hill, Bostick made her presence felt throughout that weekend. She may only be a 2029 but she plays up in class on the Upward Stars 16U 3SSB team. The season Bostick put together in 2024-25 as an eighth grader proved she will be the centerpiece of all things 4A South Florence for the next several seasons as long as she is wearing Bruins blue and gold. She averaged 14.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals last season. Among the many positive aspects to her game are getting to the free throw line, handling the ball with the right or left hand and the ability to attack in the either the halfcourt or full court as if she were a one or a two.

Bostick did not have far to travel to get to this year’s Palmetto Skillz Showcase. South Florence may have fallen a bit from its high point of reaching the 4A Lower State championship a few seasons ago, but Bostick is an indication of the bright future that awaits the Bruins. She stands at 5-foot-11 and utilizes every bit of that attribute to her advantage. Bostick also fuses together her stature with length and that becomes especially helpful when looking to reject an opponent’s shot. While she possesses the height of a frontcourt player, she also has the rim attacking talents of many guards.
