Region MVP

Dycus:

Jaiden Askins, ‘25, Jackson Southside – The 6'0 forward committed to Murray St. She averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds for a Jackson Southside team that made it to state. She gives you a bit of everything, and led her team in most categories.

Meade:

I also have [player_tooltip player_id='409042' first='Jaidynn' last='Askins'] as the MVP! This athlete is truly special! If you talk about anyone filling up an entire stat sheet, it is Askins. She is consistent and efficient in every aspect too! Murray State is getting a great one!

Jariayah Williamson, ‘24, Chester County - Led Chester County to a tremendously successful season while putting up 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 3.6 steals on 49% from the field. A tremendous player that didn't get enough pub.

Region's Most Improved Player

Dycus' List:

Kimora Currie, ‘24, Jackson Southside – Was tremendously important for JSS as their primary three point threat, and a valuable perimeter defender.

Meade:

Akira Lacy, ‘25, Jackson Southside- She almost doubled her assist average from last season! Lacy was good with the ball in her hands. I love how she turns defense to offense incredibly fast!

Region Freshman of the Year

Laila Downs-Darden, 27, Creek Wood HS - Absolutely a no brainer as she's one of the best freshmen in the state! The kid led CW to a 20 win season while averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. The 5'10 guard is a D1 talent.

Dycus Runner Up-

[player_tooltip player_id='822289' first='Ri'Kiya' last='Mitchell'], ‘27, Jackson Southside - The freshman was a valuable part of Jackson Southside's rotation all season. She proved to be an uber athletic forward that already impacts winning on the glass on and D. Her offense came along well, as she was a high efficiency scorer around the rim.

Meade:

Dycus:

[player_tooltip player_id='636401' first='Karleigh' last='Stevenson'], ‘26, Creekwood – I really like this kid's potential. As a sophomore, the 5'9 wing averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds. She led the district in MADE FT's, and was 6th in 3A overall (according to MaxPreps) which really shows how aggressive she is getting to the rim. Shot over 50% from the field as well. Her and Downs make a really scary duo going forward.

Akira Lacy, ‘25, JSS – Impacted winning without scoring much. Led JSS in assists, and was tremendous on D. Has high level athleticism and speed.
