When the summer club season comes to an end I enjoy putting together my all-summer ball teams, arranged by class. Having already released the 2025 and 2026 teams I now turn to the 2027s.

[player_tooltip player_id='779208' first='Zoey' last='Buckner-Franklin'], 5'3", Kapaun Mt. Carmel - Buckner-Franklin is a poised, shifty and athletic point guard with strong handles. Even against half court traps she sailed on-the-money, catchable passes over defenses to posts for layups. That ability is evidence to how strong her vision, unflappability and creativity is. She showed a strong ability to set up defenders for the play she wanted to make, shot the ball effectively in the mid-range and beyond the arc and finish effectively with either hand. Her quick hands and IQ were evident on the defensive end as well. She generated turnovers and consistently made good decisions to get the transition game going. After winning a state 2A title last season, and being named the 2A player of the year, Buckner-Franklin has joined the class 5A Crusaders.

[player_tooltip player_id='926681' first='Adelyn' last='Lee'], 5'4", PG, Sacred Heart - Lee showed speed and relentlessness on both ends of the floor. A strong rebounder on both ends she consistently punished opponents who failed to box her out. She jumped to the ball well, used her handles and savvy to work out of trouble. She also took quality shots from everywhere in the half court.

[player_tooltip player_id='896917' first='Amarie' last='Lowery'], McPherson - Lowery made it known to me that while her older, and all-league, sister Kya may have graduated opponents will not get a break from a Lowery who is fast, quick and physical on both ends of the floor. The Bullpups had a short roster last season and Lowery is a returner with quality 4A state tournament experience. She runs the show well while surveying the floor in transition, attacks defensive weaknesses and finds teammates with the pass. I really like how well she sets screens away from the ball.

Shooting Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='779216' first='KK' last='Emmot'], 5'7", SG, Shawnee Heights - I enjoyed getting a long look at Emmott this past May. She showed decent speed, handles and athleticism. With strong finishing ability Emmott used creativity, including a terrific cross-over Euro step for a layup, on the drive to find teammates with the pass. She is a strong athlete with great range and a quick release on her perimeter shot. Defensively, a quick and harassing wing defender. Fun to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='884875' first='Sayler' last='Stapleton'], 5'4", Meade - Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association third teamer Stapleton will be a major focus for opponents during the 2025 season for good reason. While her release is a tick slow, her catch and release from all over the perimeter is smooth...and accurate. And when heated up, and she shot 35% from beyond the arc in 2024, she is downright dangerous.
