The steady progression and production that [player_tooltip player_id='977393' first='Ellie' last='Mangers'] has had over her high school career is nothing short of impressive and I'm excited to see if she can build that even more, moving into her Senior year at Blue Hill High School. As a Freshman on the Varsity floor, Mangers only averaged around 2.5 PPG and 1 RPG but as a Sophomore she took a huge jump. She went from 2.5 PPG to 11.5 PPG and 1 RPG to 4 RPG. Following her Sophomore year and moving into her Junior season, Mangers put up similar numbers but she had just a little bit more production. As a Senior, I'm sure she is hoping to ride this momentum till the end of the year. Something that I could definitely see happening before everything is said and done over this next six months.

[player_tooltip player_id='979442' first='Taylee' last='Wharton'] of Bellevue West High School is going to have a bigger role this upcoming Winter with how their roster is constructed and I can't wait to see how she does with more time on the floor. Wharton is a solid SG and a college committed athlete. Following her Senior season, she will be taking her talents to a Bellevue University program that has some talent already. Wharton is the little sister of Taryn Wharton, who competed with NIU Women's Basketball, so you know that this runs in her blood and she is willing to do anything to see the one's around her succeed. Something you can't say about everyone out there, doing their thing.

The best way to describe [player_tooltip player_id='977526' first='Hailey' last='Pitzl'] and her play-style is that she is a prospect of opportunity. Pitzl competes at the SG position and she isn't afraid to let it go, every time she touches the ball. Don't get it twisted though. She isn't just launching up bad shots, instead she usually makes a good decision when letting it go and if she is over-played, she isn't afraid to pass the ball and move around the floor. This Burke High School program runs some pretty simple, yet interesting stuff when it comes to the X's and O's. You can tell by watching them as a team that they want to run and spread the floor. A strategy that has worked in years past and they are hoping it does the trick once again this upcoming season. As for Pitzl individually, I'm excited to see what she can do this year. If she is ready to roll, the possibilities for this team are endless.

From the looks of it, [player_tooltip player_id='977385' first='Brooklynn' last='Gillen'] is a multi-sport athlete, that thrives whenever she is competing because of her natural instincts. Gillen competes at the PG/SG spot on the floor, as well as the Short Stop position on the Softball diamond and in both cases, she does a great job of playing to her strengths and doing whatever the team needs to be done to be successful. On the Basketball court, Gillen is going to be one of her team's main options for her Senior season. She might not be #1 exactly but she should be higher up in their system with the type of work she has displayed in the past. I have a feeling at the end of this year, Gillen will be committed to the next level for Softball but that doesn't mean she won't put together a high school career to remember as it pertain to Basketball.

Fremont High School is going to have a year of opportunity ahead of them and I'll be exciting to see how they react from an outside perspective. Fremont loses some players to graduation and transfer, so they will have some chances for younger athletes to step up early on in their season. One of their upperclassmen leaders, that will be doing what they can this Winter is [player_tooltip player_id='977528' first='Emma' last='Diers']. Diers is going to have a chance to make a difference, right away as a Senior. If she can take advantage of her moments, others around her will see that and follow. I don't know the dynamic inside the huddle of this program at the moment but they have some solid athletes overall, so it'll be awesome to see what they can do.
