2027s, it's your time to shine. Or let's just say, it's time to grind and shine. You guys have been grinding and it shows in your body of work. Now, it's your year to take the next steps and contribute even more. You got your feet wet. You have a good feel for the speed of the game. Now, just let it rip and go after it.

Throughout the whole state, the 27s class has girls who can compete. Each of them brings something different to the table. Over here, girls may play one way, but over there, girls may play another. What I am saying is there's more ways to skin a cat and in this state, there is more than one way to win basketball games. The 27 class will look to step in and contribute to their ball clubs in a big way. Sure, they may be role players now, but give it some time, and these girls will be the next wave of stars. Everything takes time and you just have to be patient because your time will come.

What I love about the 27 class is that they are fearless when it comes to the game of basketball. They are gonna lace up their kicks and just get after it. So many teams who went far in the district and region tournaments had 27s who contributed significantly. This is the year where they turn the page and add a little more to their story. What we have seen over the course of last year and this summer is this 1.) Girls are hungry and aren't afraid to get after it. 2.) they are developing more skill sets and can add value early on. 3.) they may not be as polished, but they have a strong and solid foundation where they show flashes of potential. Some girls grow quicker than others which is fine. At the end of the day if you keep working, your results will come.

Below you will find some girls who aren't finished products, but have put in that work. They've had a great 1st year, solid summer ball, and now it's time to gear up for year 2. These girls are just a few of many that will be playing significant roles for their school teams this upcoming year. It doesn't matter if they start or come off the bench, just know these girls as well as others will go in with a vengeance and fulfill their roles and responsibilities.

Check out a few girls who will be big-time contributors this upcoming season for their prospective high school basketball programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='821765' first='Maddie' last='Braden'] (5'9/So./CG/CAK)- Bucket getter. Hands down a true scorer and one of the top pure shooters around. This kid is a playmaker or let's just call her a ball player. A double-double threat in every outing, this kid just competes and gets it done. She can pull it from three, stop and pop, get to the mid-range, and finish around the rim. Doesn't matter how, just know the ball is going in and she's a tough kid to handle. She's all around, contributing in multiple statistical categories. Rebounds, assists, steals, ect., this kid is a selfless player who wants to get better and is getting better. Look for her to take the next step towards becoming one of the best in her class. Solid prospect with an upwards trajectory.

[player_tooltip player_id='821777' first='Emily' last='Patterson'] (5'10/So./F/ Cleveland)- Solid kid who continues to get better. Has a great understanding of how to utilize her body to her advantage. The kid is solid on the boards on both ends of the floor. Has great footwork and defends like crazy, doesn't matter if it's in the half or full, she has active hands and feet and gets the job done. She can score the basketball around the blocks and the mid-range. Look for her to continue to develop and contribute to a lethal Lady Raiders attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='821711' first='Cailyn' last='Taylor'] (5'9/So./G/ Webb-Knoxville)- Energetic guard who brings it every single time she steps onto the floor. The kid can score on all three levels, but adds an extra punch to her squad. She's tough to defend. Poise with the ball in her hands, doesn't get rattled under pressure. Makes the right play at the right time. This past year, she grew tremendously. Solid two-way kid who just gets it done. This kid brings good energy and her teammates feed off her energy. I will say this, skies are the limit for this kid, if she keeps working at it, she is going to be hard to deal with.

[player_tooltip player_id='818215' first='Danae' last='Kennedy'] (6'1/So./CG/FACS)- Big guard who continues to get better. This kid can get it done inside, but step out on the perimeter and go to work. She can knock down the 3 ball, but if she puts it on the floor, she has the counter moves to get to the hoop. Physical kid who can take advantage of mismatches. Has nice post up moves, good face up game, so many ways for her to get to the rack. Defensively, she's long, can lock down an opponent, rebound, and block shots. Great all-around player who will continue to get better.

[player_tooltip player_id='907617' first='Macey' last='Hunter'] (5'8/So./PG/ Lipscomb Academy)- Thrown into the fire early on last year, this kid has been battle tested and has grown tremendously. She is a heady floor general who can effectively run an offensive. Macey has handles, can shoot from multiple spots on the floor, defend, and just get after it on both ends of the floor. She's fearless and will go toe to toe with whoever and whenever. Had an awesome summer and will look to build upon the foundation laid throughout her freshman year. There is only one way to go and this young lady is doing nothing but go up.

[player_tooltip player_id='821680' first='Lauren' last='Clark'] (5'10/So./G/ Cumberland Co.)- Athletic guard who can shoot the rock. She can spot up or put it on the floor, either way, the ball is going to find the bottom of the net. Heady ball player who is athletic and versatile. Can get it done both on the inside and out. Has great size, strength, and brings the physicality to the ball game each and every night. She's a go-getter and this past high school and travel ball season, she got better in each outing. This kid is an exciting prospect who has a tremendous upside. Great kid who is going to be something special when it's all said and done.
