I get very excited about athletes who play and thrive in multiple sports. It also frustrates me when young athletes are not quite sure which sport they want to try to play at the college level.

With younger athletes, I try to stay patient and cut them some slack because I fully understand how skills in one sport translate to others.

Here is a look at five multi-sport prospects with impressive rebounding seasons for their respective prep hoops teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1139818' first='Zoe' last='Davidson'], 5'7”, F, Cedar Vale/Dexter, ‘27

Davidson was one of the best rebounders in the class of 2027. She was featured in a report back in March, look for her to crack the Prep Girls Hoops rankings when they are next updated. She collected 9.6 rebounds per contest as a freshman. She scored 12.2 points in 22 games for the Spartans. She also plays softball and volleyball. Based on her numbers, softball might be the sport she plays collegiately. She had a .589 batting average last season with 56 total hits, 51 runs scored, and 40 RBI. Davidson had 25 total extra-base hits including five home runs.

Abby Packard, 5'11”, C, Mission Valley, ‘27

Packard is a two-sport prospect who I have seen play volleyball. She finished her freshman season averaging 7.4 rebounds in 21 games for the Vikings. She is long and has a big reach which helps her clean the glass and crush volleyballs. She has 30 kills and 21 total blocks in 26 sets played on the volleyball court early this season.

Talen Orton, 5'9”, SF, Wabaunsee, ‘27

Orton is another multi-sport prospect. She finished her freshman season grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game while also scoring 7.5 points per contest for the Chargers. She played 23 games last season for Wabaunsee. She has 45 kills and 21 blocks in 15 sets played for the Chargers' volleyball squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='836279' first='Reece' last='Stickney'], 5'6”, CG, Ellinwood, ‘27

I recently made a trip to catch a volleyball game. One member of the Eagles' roster who is a talented basketball prospect as well is Stickney. She grabbed 5.2 rebounds per game as a freshman. She also scored 11.4 points per contest. She is quick, hustles, and works hard for her rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='922643' first='Grace' last='Zeller'], 5'9”, PG, Wabaunsee, ‘27

Zeller is currently on PGH's Watch List for the class of 2027 and is ranked No. 85 overall by Prep Dig Kansas for her volleyball acumen. She finished her freshman season averaging 5.2 rebounds and 8.4 points per game. Zeller has collected 45 kills and 22 total blocks in 15 sets played this season.
