I worked on one of these before the Freshman Showcase, so I'll do this for the Top 250 Expo. Today, we'll highlight a few players attending the Top 250 Showcase that I'm eager to see play in person this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='769179' first='Cali' last='Tagliapietra']

Another Grafton guard I'm eager to see play is [player_tooltip player_id='769179' first='Cali' last='Tagliapietra']. She's a high-motor kid who sets the tone at the point of attack. The Blackhawk guard may never be a kid who averages double-figures in scoring, but her ability to set a pace for a game may be more valuable than someone scoring ten points. Tagliapietra's ability to make opposing guards indecisive at the point of attack will help Grafton be one of the more frustrating teams to play against in the North Shore this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='889686' first='Sophia' last='Remiker']

Players come out of nowhere after not playing many minutes in their first year, like Mukwonago's post last season. Remiker is a player with the potential to make that leap this season. The Ashwaubenon wing has the size at 6'0, and the skill with the ball in her hands to be a handful for FRCC defenses this season. She was impressive over the summer with [program_tooltip program_id='713038' first='Wisconsin' last='Blaze'] and for Ashwaubenon at Summer Slam in Appleton over the scholastic live period.

[player_tooltip player_id='751243' first='Ava' last='Vogler']

The 2027 guard is as skilled of a scorer as anyone in that class. The rangy 5'8 Sun Prairie native had impressed well before she stepped on campus at Sun Prairie East. In her first season as a Cardinal, Vogler helped her team win some games in the Big Eight last season, including a home win over a talented Vel Phillips Memorial team. Vogler is a three-level scorer who can get to her spots anytime she wants and is a threat to take over games on the offensive end of the floor. Her length also allows her to play passing lanes and jump them more often than most guards. As she matures, her defensive game will continue improving.

[player_tooltip player_id='842218' first='Julieyn' last='Martin']

One of the breakouts in the FVA this season was Hortonville wing [player_tooltip player_id='842218' first='Julieyn' last='Martin']. She broke out in the second half of the season after some injuries early on, and once she got her chance, she ran with it. Martin was a significant reason the Polar Bears beat Neenah, in likely the most attended regular season girls' basketball game in recent memory. She's a solid complimentary wing with her ability to space the floor and defend talented kids on the perimeter. There's room for her to grow with the ball in her hands. She sees the floor well but needs more experience with the ball in her hands, and she'll get that with Blaze next summer. She's heading in the right direction.
