Top Performers at the Tennessee Expo

First off, big props to everyone who helped put on this amazing event. The reviews from attendees both in the stands as well as participants were that this was one of the best events around. Without saying any names, fans really left pleased with the competition level and how the event was run. Shout out to the PGH staff for a job well done.   Like I mentioned before, there was some top talent who came to compete this past weekend. Of course not everyone was able to make it, but from all corners of the state, girls represented their area, and it was nice to see everyone in one place, just playing ball. Competition was tough and fierce. Girls really separated themselves as there were matchups that enabled girls to go toe-to-toe with each other. There were plenty of kids who stood out and increased their stocks for sure.   During the event, girls were mixed and matched in different playing opportunities. Starting off in the 3v3 segment, girls got plenty of work early and often as they battled it out. It didn't matter what classification or year in school you were in, girls mixed it up and you could see that all the girls were eager to get down and dirty. The 3v3 competition was awesome because you saw the creativity of girls who have never played together, feed off each other and put up some major points. Like I said, the creativity was at a premium, the energy was live, and the competitiveness of each individual came out as these young ladies just got after it. As each minute passed, you could see the will and the desire to get after it turned up a notch.   After the 3v3 battles, it was onto 5v5. Wow, I guess the 3v3 must have been the warm up because when it came to the 5 on 5, it was definitely a showcase. Teams were evenly split and the games were pretty close going down to the wire on a few. I will say this, we have a lot of girls in this state that will be playing at the next level some day, somewhere. Mark my words. I really came away impressed and if you were in attendance as well, you probably did too.   Here are the Top 7 girls who rocked the Expo event in Tennessee.    She exudes energy and confidence. She was having fun out there as she was knocking down shots all over the court and hitting open teammates for kickout 3s. She was tough on both ends of the floor. When her team needed a bucket, she got it done. I love her consistency from the field as she found the bottom of the net countless times. Hands down one of the best performers this weekend. Solid kid with a tremendous future.     Well, I will say this, she is a lethal shooter from the arc. Talk about a 3pt machine, she was filling it up from deep. Her confidence was there as she let it fly time after time. When she wasn't getting buckets, she was grinding it out on the defensive end. She's a hard nose player that just gets after it. Definitely someone to keep your eyes on for sure.     Has to be one of the top facilitators in the state. The kid is silky smooth with the ball in her hands. She can manipulate a defender into what she wants them to do. She was a downhill threat, getting easy looks at the basket as she blew past her defender. She was feeding the post as well as spot up shooters, delivering easy passes to shoot off of. The way she was breaking down opponents was really a site to see. A heady floor general who continues to get better. One of the top kids in her class for sure.     [player_tooltip player_id='822483' first='Ava' last='Zenner']'s battery mate, EJ did her thing too. Was impressive as all get out. She was displaying her handles, locking up on D, and of course getting buckets. From deep, from the mid-range, getting to the rim, all 3 levels were hit as she got basket after basket. Talk about someone whose stock is increasing, this kid is gaining the attention of coaches and scouts near and far. Super talent who had a phenomenal day!     There is a reason why they call her the Cameron Brink of Tennessee. With a long frame and moves to get past defenders, CB was on it on both ends of the floor. She displayed her range as she knocked down 3s from the arc. She put the ball on the floor, attacking the rim. Brought her post up game to the party as well, unleashing some nice over the shoulders moves. On defense, shots were getting swatted. All you could do is shake your head in amazement. Teenage boys in attendance kept saying “man, that Cameron Brink girl is nice.” Game recognizes game and CB's stock is on the uptick. Solid kid who keeps getting better.     I will say I am a big fan of this young lady. She just brings tremendous energy to the court and just hustles. Doesn't matter the situation, this kid is always on “go mode.” She is one of the most underrated two way players in the state. Yes she can put up points, scoring it from multiple spots on the court. It's her energy to just get after it, whatever the coach wants her to do. She does it without asking questions. Rebounds (on both ends), steals, all the hustle plays, this kid shows up and competes her tail off. Had a great showing this weekend that will carry over to the regular season.     Heady ball player who can play both on and off ball. She can pick her spots to exploit, finishing from afar and at the rim. The kid was instrumental in hunting great shots for her club. Poise and with precision, she was able to find the bottom of the net at a consistent clip in both 3v3 and 5v5 contests. She was also stellar on the defensive end as well. Solid kid who is about to have a breakout year.
